Bought the B1B with the oil in the radiator yesterday. Haven't had a chance to drain the oil out of the engine and see what comes out. Here's some pictures before I tried to load it up on the trailer.

The engine fires and runs on gas down the carb. The fuel line appears to be clogged.

Wouldn't roll. Had to remove the front left hub. The brake shoe liners fell out. They were getting wedged when I tried to roll the truck.

As an interesting side note, the man who had it originally had weld the front bumper with a make shift grill guard and welded a bracket on the front bumper for the tow bar you can see in the bed of the truck. He pulled the truck behind his tractor to the fields that way he had a ride for lunch or to get home at night.

I discovered the seat adjustment valve. There's a plate over the windshield on the pasenger side with instructions on how to operate it. I guess this was standard on a B1B.

Luckily the gentleman I bought it from only wanted his $300 back out of it. I'm leaning toward taking the fenders, running boards and doors off the red B3B parts truck and making it a driver just for fun. The doors will be wrong, but in better shape. I can always finish it out later.

He's referring to the "Air-O-Ride" seat that has the bottom cushion closed in underneath. There is a valve that you can open to let air in and out. Depending on how far it's opened you are supposed to be able to adjust the cushioning effect.

Here's a picture of the under side of my seat, showing the valve in the center

here is a trick to get oil out of your radiator once you find the problem. Put clear water in the radiator once you get the water warm by running the engine add auto matic dish washer detergent ( gel works best) . Run it for a lon g time then drain and add anti freeze. The auto dish detergent is castic soda based so it doesn't foam up. It will get rid of any

oil in the water.

This works real good in diesel engines with leaky oil coolers. just a tip.

Has anyone ever put an outside coating on a gas tank? I pulled the tank off the B1B and want to put it in the B3B. Before I do I had considered giving it a coating of something like a spray in bedliner to try to get a few more years out of the tank.

Yes I have. I used 2 coats of Zero Rust, one silver and one black. Then I used rattle can Under-Coating over the top of the Zero Rust and it looks pretty nice. I also used a gas tank sealer kit as well on the inside too. I have not used the tank yet, so I do not know how well everything will work, but the tank was pressure tested after welding the new sending unit mount on and all was well then.

i was looking thru post and seen talking about seat in pick up,no pump to speak of,just controller on bottom of seat ??????must allow transfer of air to allow more or less cushion, have a 48 Route van,on overhead between pass and driver glove box, metal tag for seat control,to the left says firm seat to the right says soft seat,no switches or buttons, just 4 holes about 1/4 big, looks to be to mount something, did find small air/vacum pump in bucket of goodies in van, only frame and springs are left of seat
