jakenoklahoma Posted April 1, 2010 Author Report Posted April 1, 2010 The hubs and 15 inch wheels say it's 3/4 ton. what shows that it is a fluid drive? I know more or less what the coupling is, but w/o crawling under & looking, what would show that? Quote
Jim Gaspard Posted April 1, 2010 Report Posted April 1, 2010 The two broken studs under the hood badge "Dodge" indicate a "Fluid Drive" label originally existed. I think you have either a B1C or B2C, 3/4 ton Fluid Drive. There seems to be fewer Fluid Drive models around which makes it somewhat unique though several members own them, me included. Parts are available. They are kind of a standard shift automatic. For more information use the "search" link above, or "tech archives" sections. Quote

Merle Coggins Posted April 1, 2010 Report Posted April 1, 2010 I also noticed the remnents of the Fluid Drive emblem. These are more rare than hen's teeth. Good luck. And since it is a Fluid Drive truck, and appears to be a 3/4 ton truck, you have a 1950 model B2C. That emblem should look like this. Merle Quote
jakenoklahoma Posted April 1, 2010 Author Report Posted April 1, 2010 Thanks, Merle. Hopefully, all will be right with the fluid drive when I get her going. I have heard that they are very reliable. Quote
Merle Coggins Posted April 1, 2010 Report Posted April 1, 2010 Haven't had a lick of problems with mine. I love it. Just change the fluid in it when you get to that point of your project. I used a AW32 grade Tractor Hydraulic Fluid in mine. Merle Quote

I remember some white Easters I was just north of there on Tuesday. I had to meet with a customer in Bay City. They have operations in Hagar City, Bay City, and Maiden Rock. It feels like spring up here again. Nice and warm this week. Grass is getting green and the trees are starting to bud out. Quote
