Fernando Mendes Posted March 26, 2010 Report Posted March 26, 2010 Anyone can show us in a pic the approach /correct angle in degrees of the B3-B rear shock absorber? Thanks. Quote
Fernando Mendes Posted March 27, 2010 Author Report Posted March 27, 2010 Tomorrow I will see the angle measure of the B3-B rear shock absorber in degrees. In this pic we can see that is impossible to change the shock mount to the center of the truck, because the brake hose suport don't permit,ok?I want to show this pic too for Dave72:) Quote
Fernando Mendes Posted March 27, 2010 Author Report Posted March 27, 2010 Fernando, A shorter shock (shorter collapsed length) should help you out or move the top shock mount closer to the center of the truck. It's odd that a shock with same dimemsions as original doesn't fit. Did they get the correct arch when they redid your spirings?(Dave72dt) Quote
Dave72dt Posted March 27, 2010 Report Posted March 27, 2010 I posted a response on one of the other shock posts. Theory remains the same. the more it's laid over, the softer the ride. I,m using coil-overs with a trianguled four link on the back of mine so I shouldn't have a wheel hop problem and my shocks will be angled towards the center. Shocks here have been mounted in front of, behind, towards center, and some with one front and one behind depending on the ride and handling they're trying to achieve and perhaps by limitations of where they will physically fit. Fernando Mendes Posted March 27, 2010 Author Report Posted March 27, 2010 Dave72dt,I am speaking in original B3-B rear shock. Are you too? Quote
Dave72dt Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 No, speaking in general terms only. Obviously, on your B3B you will be using the stock mounting locations. You'll end up with a ride that's very much like it was originally. The rear suspension in mine will place the shocks behind the axle, leaned towards the center of the truck and will need an additional crossmember for the top shock mounts. My truck has also been lowered about 3 inches in the rear which would have been really hard to do with stock leaf springs. Shock locations have varied over the years by model and manufacturer. On the rear axle the bottom mount is typically placed as far out on th axle as clearance allows. The top mounts have been placed in a number of places. The B3B location stock location is exactly where you show it on yours and where it would be on all stock suspensioned B3Bs. Mine is far from stock. Quote
Fernando Mendes Posted March 28, 2010 Author Report Posted March 28, 2010 Ok,I measure now and see the angle of 55º with the vertical plan in mine B3-B. Quote
