As far as I know there are a few options:

A: Buy an original 6 volt setup and have the motor rewound to 12 Volts.

B: Buy an original 6 volt setup and step down the voltage before the motor.

C: Find some 12 Volt motor of about the same size from some other application, and do whatever fabrication is needed to make it fit. The only problem I see with this option is that the 12 Volt motors I have seen mostly seem to work very differently. The motors are not of the same style, and may not fit in the same locations.

D: Buy some universal hot rod kit and do whatever fabrication is needed to make it fit.

Personally I like the first option the best, sure to fit, and you can get parts for everything but the windings from other PH trucks down the road if you ever have a problem. Plus it will look stock to everyone.
