randroid Posted February 21, 2010 Report Posted February 21, 2010 Folks, Colorado has that law, or will soon, and I simply have never met anybody who's taking it the least bit seriously. It's just another law enacted and enforced to protect us from ourselves (and increase the sales of a hitherto unknown and unnecessary gadget) and I agree that it would be nice if they would concentrate their efforts where those efforts were needed. Oh, well, it would be difficult to find any profession with less job security than being an elected official, and if writing silly rules for me to follow makes them feel better about themselves well, it helps keep my mind off pondering the validity of electing anybody to a useless job. Humans are quite susceptible to the 'Herd Mentality' aspect of voting as the crowd votes so we can't blame politicians for trying to find out the extent of how stupid their constituency is willing to be. I, for example, am willing to cede my free will to any stranger who gets to sit in a particularly special chair just as long as I can think that regardless of what happens it won't be my fault. -Randy Quote
