How high should I bring the brake fluid in the master cylinder on my 50 Plymouth?

I fill mine close to or to the top. The large threaded plug is vented so if overfull, it will have somewhere to go.

If you don't want the fluid to overflow out of the vented cap , only fill it to within 7/16 to 1/2 inch of the top .

It should be as full as you can get it. There is also a pretty cool posting on the forum about remote mounted reservoirs for your brake fluid. It mounts on the firewall for easier servicing.

I looked in a Motors Manual dated 1954 for the fluid level in the master cylinder . There is nothing under the mopar section but in the general section under brakes it said to fill up to 3/8 inch of the top . Does anyone have anything different in your mopar shop manual regarding this ?
