normf@centurytel.net Posted January 14, 2010 Report Posted January 14, 2010 I have 1953 B4B and it has a single wire fuel tank sending unit held in place by a lock ring. I've visually verified that the unit is defective and have temporarily repaired it and it now works, but is not likely to last. I am looking for a replacement and have round several universal models that can be made to fit, but the ohm ratings vary. Does anyone have the proper ohm values for the OEM sending unit. I need the high and low values....and then can select a replacement unit. I have reviewed the manuals I have but no values are provided. Normf@centurytel.net. Quote
TodFitch Posted January 14, 2010 Report Posted January 14, 2010 It is my understanding that the 1950s Plymouths used a 10 to 78 ohm unit. I would expect that range to be common across all the Chrysler product productions. See: http://www.ply33.com/Repair/fuelsender.html Quote
aero3113 Posted August 1, 2010 Report Posted August 1, 2010 You can get some ideas from this post http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/showthread.php?t=18469 Quote
norrism1 Posted August 2, 2010 Report Posted August 2, 2010 My 51 B3B was sigle wire, 10 to 90 ohm range. Bigger trucks may or may not be the same. Same gas tank I would guess. Quote
