oldmopar Posted November 15, 2009 Report Posted November 15, 2009 The seat in my truck had the wrong bottom and also had a broken seat track. I have 60 power giant parts truck (for my 59 w200) and was able to use that seat as a replacement. It fits good and as a bonus the seat back tips froward giving me a little storage behind the seat. Interesting that you have cutouts on the side of the seat pedestal platform. When I got my 51 B3B back in 1996 some PO had made the same modification to my truck. I'm assuming people do it to access the otherwise unusable storage space under the seat. I went ahead and had mine re-installed using the sheet metal from a parts truck. Brad Quote
JoelOkie Posted November 16, 2009 Report Posted November 16, 2009 The seat in my 49 B1B lifts up to let you access the enclosed space under the seat, which I am assuming was used for jack/lug wrench/tool box/engine crank, ect. storage. The seat back hangs on the seat frame. Joel Quote

Brad I had to cut the drivers side for the seat handle but made it larger so I have easy access to remove the seat if I need to get at the sending unit, I did save the cutout pieces incase I or someone else wanted to return to a original seat Quote
