LuckyDevil Posted November 13, 2009 Report Posted November 13, 2009 I have a Carter M6D1 carburetor on my 53 Windsor. The car has a Prestomatic Transmission (M6). On the carb is an anti stall solenoid on the top, and a kickdown switch by the linkage. I found a wiring diagram for it already so I know where the wires go, but I need somebody to show me a picture of the kickdown switch attachment. It looks like a hole with a fancy paper clip wrapped around it so where does the wire go? Is there something missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated. In the first picture you can see me point at the front side of the kickdown switch, the second picture is of the back side of the switch and a close-up. Quote
greg g Posted November 13, 2009 Report Posted November 13, 2009 Does this help? Good info at the Imperial club site, three technician manuals regarding the trans. Here is one http://www.imperialclub.com/Repair/Lit/Master/012A/index.htm Quote
LuckyDevil Posted November 13, 2009 Author Report Posted November 13, 2009 I know which wire goes to the carb kickdown switch I just dont understand how it connects. There are no electrical connections. It just looks like a tube with a paper clip wrapped around it like in the picture. Is there a piece missing or does the wire go down into the tube somehow? Quote
Byronb3b Posted November 13, 2009 Report Posted November 13, 2009 The fitting on the carburetor takes a push in type connector end on the wire, the hair pin clip is there to help lock it in place, same as the type used on the stop light switch. Quote
