Norm's Coupe Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 I had a set of these custom made for my coupe some years ago. Made out of aluminum and polished. The pattern is the same as the original escutcheons. However, decided to put the originals back on the car when I did the interior. I have seen escutcheons advertised in Speedway too. Won't be original, but.....at least they should have them. Saw them in the paper catalog though. Don't know if they are on their website. Quote
Andydodge Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 I have installed 1940 Ford Deluxe inside door handles on my 41 Plymouth, used the 40 Ford stainless escutcheons and the springs behind them came from the local hardware store........nice stainless springs that fit under the escutcheons that kitchen/bathroom taps use......the 40 Ford handles look quite flash.............andyd Quote

They looked better, more like they belonged there. I still have the aluminum ones though, just need to polish them and they would look close to what stainless would look like. Will hang onto them just in case. Of course, if I wanted to, I could also simply paint the center part creme color so they would look close to original, since they are the same pattern as original.
