greg g Posted October 28, 2009 Report Posted October 28, 2009 (edited) Don if you get time and are interested in old railroad engineering, and if its open this time of the year, visit the Georgetown Loop, just past the western Portal of the Eisenhower tunnel on I 70, it's quite an interesting piece of silver mining railway work. It uses a spiral helix to change about 900 feet in elevation in just about 2 miles of track. We rode it about 15 years ago and the engine was a steam powered geared locomotive.
