55 Fargo Posted October 10, 2009 Author Report Posted October 10, 2009 Okay, had to go for a ride with a brutal Northwest wind, and snow flurrie flakes coming down, temp is colder at 36. This morning in the closest town, I saw about a 30 Model A sedan, and a 1955 Chev 4 door driver type cars milling around. The 47 ran nice and warm, need to finish interior, weatherstrip doors, insulate roof and floors, will make it really toasty warm at these temps, below 0 I have driven this car, but not my idea of fun, unless it is absolutely calm..... Rodney Bullock Posted October 11, 2009 Report Posted October 11, 2009 I feel for you guy's with the snow however all the germs are dead where you are, be thankful for that cold. I love the snow. I am about burned out now so I don't need to drive my car for another month or two. Hey Don, melting that snow was a magical feet:D Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted October 11, 2009 Report Posted October 11, 2009 Hey Don, melting that snow was a magical feet:D Don should move up here. He could make lots of money, with no investment. People would pay him to get rid of 10 to 20 inches of snow in their yards when it's Zero outside. Was a toasty 20 degrees this morning here. Quote

The changing of the seasons is nice, but I get really fed up with the snow and brutal cold we get here, anyone from Montana, ND, Minnesota and parts of Wisconsin can understand. There are parts of Montana, that are colder than here, and we get close to -40 before windchill factors at least a few times each winter, -30 to -35, happen a lot in January and February. In the Winnipeg area in the dead of winter, an average night we be down close to -25, and day time highs up to 0 to -5, sometimes were lucky and get close to 32 on real mild winter days. So the guys in the south, who have 20s and 30s at night, and 40s to mid 50s daytime, I could live with that, you can still get things done outside, drive the old cars, and no friggin snow and salt on the roads. When spring rolls around in March in these areas it gets nice fast, not like here when winter can linger to mid April. So winter mid November, to mid April, those cozy snow scenes Norm get old real quick, "but I was born here in the snow, it's the only life I know", yah, yah, bah, brrrrrr Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted October 11, 2009 Report Posted October 11, 2009 Well, I grew up in the Louisville area. I can remember many times in December, January and February wearing short sleeve shirts and no jackets. Rarely had any snow to speak of. Even on what we called cold days, rarely ever had to zip up my jacket. So.........I've had it both ways. In the end, I do enjoy the snow falling in the winter, especially during the Christmas season. BobT is a good example of rotten winter weather in my book. It's nice and what we call warm down there most of the winter. But..........because of that, they get a lot of rain. There there are the heavy ice storms they get that he talks about. Same with Tim Adams in his neck of the woods. I'd much rather contend with the colder temperatures than winter rains and ice storms. At least you can walk around outside with snow falling, and not get soaked up where we live. When it comes to driving in snow and ice. It's much easier to drive in deep snow than it is with an inch of ice on the roads. We did hit about 40 degrees today, but.......they had said it was going to be a high of 47. Maybe it did somewhere around here, but not at my house. Quote
