I cannot find the specification for the RB 440 engine distributor..the raised block does add length to the distributor...I just do not know how much and the adapters online all are listed without specs..so could anyone please measure the length of the distributor shaft from the tip to the base of the distributor where it contacts the block thanks..

I bought a distributor marked 318 but for sure it is not for that...as all three electronic distributors for the 8's shared the same cap...quick glance is not enough unless you hav committed the tags to memory...

update...I stumbled across the distributor in question..it is a Mopar 440 (Dodge engine facility) this was in industrail engines, marine and motorhome..seems the Texas/Oklahoma oil fields got a bunch of these 440's in use. The one in question is more than not from a motor home..

In case you interested..lots of data here..see third post by wayne..

I think I now have the shaft lengths and most all interchanges between the old and new..from the poly block and up including the very rare RB 315/325 engine..all this came about as Lou and I went through a host of distributors and such for his 325 which we first assumed was a 326
