aero3113 Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 After my 218 warms up the RPM seem kind of high until I step on the gas then it goes back down. What do you guys think would cause this? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 possibily the idle step up linkage needs cleaned..it has to be dirt/corrosion/oil free for proper operation...(part of the choke) Quote
aero3113 Posted September 23, 2009 Author Report Posted September 23, 2009 Is it the linkage that goes from the choke solenoid to the butterfly? Just the Rod? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 (edited) it is the step cam lever on the throttle shaft that the choke linkage should connect to...about two weeks or so if not less there were pictures posted on her showing that piece and the connection of the rod itself... http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/showthread.php?t=17486&highlight=choke Edited September 23, 2009 by Tim Adams Quote
claybill Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 i'll betcha a nickel the adj rod isnt snapping the throttle valves all the way back. try a tougher spring or turn it out a turn to lengthen it . also....once on my 41 the accelerator rod was rubbing on fire wall..causing slow return.. bill Quote
Ed Fleming Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 Try the rubber boot in the firewall .the one on my 48 was dry and causing the rod to stick Quote
