What finish works well on cast headers? durability and longevity are most important. I like the jet hot looking stuff. I am also looking at changing my split duals into a 2 into 1 system, joining either just before the muffler, or using a 2 inlet 1 big outlet the muffler itself. Does anyone run something like this?

I've got Phillips cast iron headers on my motor. After my attempt at high temp paint failed miserably, I sent the headers and the 2 down pipes out to be ceramic coated; cost me about $220 in late 2005, still look new now.

I got my split cast iron pipes at a swap meet. The prior owner brush painted some silver stuff on, very good whatever it was. I followed up with a good cleaning and some rattle can hi temp satin black. Looks good so far. Messed up my oven while curing the satin black at 600 degrees. Darned thing hasn't worked since. Pipes came out good though.

POR 15 has a extreme high temp paint for exhaust manifolds that works very well. It can be sprayed or brushed. I bought a small 8 oz. can(about $15). I've used it to paint three manifolds and the can isstill half full.

Coated all my exhausts with Hard Hat from Rustoleum sold in spray cans.

on my bizz coupe wrapped my exhaust with heat tape from thermo-tec to keep the temp down under the hood, works great.
