paulmusiclover Posted August 27, 2009 Report Posted August 27, 2009 Has anyone added the round backup light that was available as an option to their car? I'm curious how it looks and where it goes on the back ideally. Quote
1947PLEVY Posted August 27, 2009 Report Posted August 27, 2009 It depends on the type you are using..I have two unity's that are mounted below the tail lights.. I have seen others that are big and round, sorta like a foglight...don't know where it mounts.. John Quote
paulmusiclover Posted August 27, 2009 Author Report Posted August 27, 2009 John, How did you wire the backup lights into the circuit? I was referring to the big round one, but I'd like to see what your setup looks like too, do you have pictures? Quote
michael.warshaw Posted August 27, 2009 Report Posted August 27, 2009 i have the back up light on mine on the driver side under the taillight Quote
48mirage Posted August 27, 2009 Report Posted August 27, 2009 The big round one that looks like a foglight, I have seen mounted to the back bumper the same way a foglight on the front would be mounted. As far as a circuit. With a gyromatic transmission, many of them had a way to mount a reverse switch. Other than that I would suggest a simple toggle switch. Maybe one of those switches that light up when they are on. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 27, 2009 Report Posted August 27, 2009 (edited) I have a 47 Dodge Town Sedan with factory wired back up light switch..the actual switch for the device is dash mounted on the dash, left side of the steering wheel. To activate you plulled the klnob..the knob is clear red and the lights up bright when activated letting you know the circuit is activated... Edited May 24, 2017 by Plymouthy Adams Quote
1947PLEVY Posted August 27, 2009 Report Posted August 27, 2009 Paul: The ones I have are like the one on Tim's car. It mounts under the taillight and has a switch to the left of the steering wheel on the inside of the car. You turn it on and off yourself.. God Bless US All.. John Quote
