Vintrader Posted July 7, 2009 Report Posted July 7, 2009 This 51 truck has been on ebay and the auction is over in 2 days. Besides looking like a very original western truck in way better than average condition. By the S/N 833670331951 looks like a B3C - 116 wb. I don't think I have ever seen the low sided box on a express chassis? It is also a 4 speed Fluid Drive. Dutch Quote
Reg Evans Posted July 7, 2009 Report Posted July 7, 2009 I would agree that they are pretty rare. Besides this one I have only seen 1 other in about 20 years of looking. Quote
Vintrader Posted July 7, 2009 Author Report Posted July 7, 2009 I just noticed this truck is also listed in the Trucks For Sale section of this forum. No price. Dutch Quote
BulldogTom Posted July 10, 2009 Report Posted July 10, 2009 Time for a dumb question: What is an "express chasis"? That truck looks like mine, except mine is in a thousand pieces on my garage floor. Quote
Merle Coggins Posted July 10, 2009 Report Posted July 10, 2009 Only the 1/2 ton trucks were called "Pickups". 3/4 and 1 ton trucks with a "pickup" bed were called "Express" trucks. Merle Quote
Vintrader Posted July 11, 2009 Author Report Posted July 11, 2009 I talked to Matt, a very nice fellow selling this truck and ask him for the model number stamped on the ID plate. ( B3C 116 ) So it was in fact a Express Model 3/4 ton. He had just made a deal to sell it for $6250.00 Any comments on that price? Do you think it was fair? Do you think it was a good deal for the Buyer? There have been a number of discussions on the forum about Values of Pilot House Trucks. What do ya think? Turns out I had meet Matt, he had another truck for sale that I looked at this spring. He had no idea what this Dodge was really worth, but was happy with the sale. Quote
