normanpitkin Posted June 18, 2009 Report Posted June 18, 2009 hi ,I am thinking of buying one of these ,seemingly pointless, dress up items ,does anyone have one,or indeed have an opinion about them ?Pictures please!! Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted June 18, 2009 Report Posted June 18, 2009 Here's my favorite. Had it on the car for several years. Last summer, the propellor flew off. So, no I need to find a new one to replace it. Gets lots of comments. Also have this one. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted June 18, 2009 Report Posted June 18, 2009 And here is a third one I have........ My opinion - some are more nifty than others. Just depends on what you like. You could go so far as to get some of those fancy mudflaps from the day, also. I happen to like period stuff......not everybody does. Quote
normanpitkin Posted June 18, 2009 Author Report Posted June 18, 2009 verry nice ,especially the little bugger, haha! Fancy mudflaps are great ,never seen any of those for sale!what about chrome doorhandle guards ,ditto gascap guards! Quote
Niel Hoback Posted June 18, 2009 Report Posted June 18, 2009 Bob, we used to call those mudflaps "Tennessee air brakes" . Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted June 18, 2009 Report Posted June 18, 2009 Well, Norman, if that super looking Chrysler coupe in your profile is what you're referring to - I don't think they made any door handle guards for these 40s models. Not sure that they made gas tank filler guards either. Can't recall seeing any. Probably because the filler is on a curved fender. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted June 18, 2009 Report Posted June 18, 2009 The bug deflectors appear on ebay from time to time. They have even had a couple with the propellor......but I wasn't willing to pay the $55 they started it for. Lots of other period stuff out there, depending upon your likes. I have the chrome headlite visors with the red glass marble, the chrome wing window wind deflectors, an older compass, magnetic dash tray, hula girl for the dash, and blue dot tail lights - among other things.
