adam_knox Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 I'm still drooling... Thankfully they don't have a 49 convertible in there, otherwise I might be suffering some buyers remorse! Man, half of 'em don't even have a reserve! Lemme go check last night's lotto numbers.... Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 My question is -- where the heck is that museum place?? It says nothing in the ad - that I saw - as to where the place is located. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 They have a lot of neat old Mopars. Most seem to be either original or nicely re-done. If original, they are a good source to see just how the interior and other things were done up. Here's a two tone P15 sedan........... And this P15 convert........... Who sez there's no 49 Plym convert????? You want Plymouth fins??? This 60 has em. For example---the seats in the P15 convert are done as original....I think I will use this scheme on my seats as they're very similar to my originals still under the seat covers. That tan insert color is pretty much what I want. Quote
woodie49 Posted June 5, 2009 Author Report Posted June 5, 2009 You are right , it is hard to find the location, etc. Here it is: Auction Location: Old Car Heaven Museum, 115 35th Street S, Birmingham, Alabama 35222 Auction Preview: Thursday, June 18 - 10:00AM-5:00PM Friday, June 19 - 10:00AM-5:00PM Pre-Registered VIP Bidders may schedule a private showing Friday, June 19 - 6PM Saturday, June 20 - 11:00 AM BobT makes a great point. Someone living close by could run down and take a load of pictures. The auction house guys or the museum people can probably tell you whether something is actually original, or restored to original. What a great way to spend a day. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 It would be interesting to go look at those cars in person......and see if the museum personnel actually know if some things are really original. That thought depends upon if you or I know what was truly "original". Quote
RobertKB Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 Now that is a great auction. It has Barrett-Jackson (aka hotrods, customs, and Corvettes) beat 10 ways to 1 in my book. A lot of great old cars as they are meant to be! Wish I was closer and had recently won the lottery. Wish I could see it on TV instead of re-runs of B-J. Quote
