BobT-47P15 Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 Benjamin Powers and his wife Nikki stopped by for a visit today. They were on their way back home to Trenton, MO from a trip to Oklahoma. They were driving their green 46 Deluxe P15 sedan.....a nice car. Lot of original features still intact. He's running radials on his original 16 inch rims....with no problems, he says. Went for lunch at the Sultan of Smoke BBQ place on old Rte 66, here in Joplin. They've been driving on The Mother Road much as possible during the trip. Always great to meet other forum members in person. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v96/BobT3/Petey%20Plymouth%201/Plym%20and%20people/100_3860.jpg[/img]"]http:// I'm the short guy on the left........ http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v96/BobT3/Petey%20Plymouth%201/Plym%20and%20people/100_3859.jpg[/img]"]http:// Quote
steveplym Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 Glad you guys got to meet Bob. Those two cars look good together. How was the BBQ? I always love going to a good BBQ place. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted May 19, 2009 Author Report Posted May 19, 2009 BBQ was good......as it always is. They get recognition and awards along the way. Quote
Captain Neon Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 It was good to meet Bob. Quite a jovial gentleman. Anyone coming through Joplin would do well to arrange some time to chat with Bob even if it's just a few minutes. First time that I'd met Bob in person, but it was like we've been friends for years. Best boughten BBQ I've had since moving out of Minnesota. We just got back to Trenton a few hours ago. I'll post a few other photos from Rte. 66 this evening. The hayfield I call my yard is calling my name... Quote
Captain Neon Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 Agreed' date=' Bob is a jovial outgoing person and seems like he'd be a lot of fun to be around all the time. I met him in Tennessee, along with Don Coatney in 06 on our way to Chattanooga. I have only one question? Did you guys have napkins with your BBQ?[/quote'] There were napkins. Quote
Captain Neon Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 See pictures of my '46 Plymouth's adventures along Rt. 66. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=23493&id=1409073152&l=c999fb1072 Quote
RobertKB Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 Pictures look great. Thanks for posting. Are those your burnouts on the bridge? Quote
Captain Neon Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 Nope, but the burn-outs do add a certain ambience to the bridge, esp. the Rt. 66 logos. The bridge is on a little spur off the main highway. We had plenty of time to walk around and take photos while traffic drove by observing us taking photos. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted May 20, 2009 Author Report Posted May 20, 2009 Good pics from your travels, Ben. Glad you made it home OK. Stop by any time you and Nikki are in Joplin. (By the way, Norm has this thing about paper towels on tables to be used as napkins.) Quote
steveplym Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 Pictures look great Ben. The old sedan looks great in all the scenery. Quote
