Weather Bead and Floor Mat Source - Thanks David Maxwell

Thanks, David Maxwell, the kick panels from the source you recommended are installed on both '54 & '47 Plymouths. Quite nice. Can anyone recommend a source for P-15 front floor mats? Do the replacements include the jute padding? Also, I need a source for the cloth bound weather bead that edges the door. I bought some, but it was rubber, no cloth. Thanks in advance. Bob

My upholstry guy made me the bead you speak of, Bob. Took that round rubber stuff.....wrapped some of my upholstry material around it, and stitched it up. He left a "tail" to insert between the body and panel.

Not sure of a source, but the NOS rubber floor mat i bought several years ago had the jute backing attached. Problem with old stock.....it began splitting fairly soon due to age. Some mats appear for sale on ebay from time to time.

I think the cloth covered bead is called windlace. Places like Roberts or Kanter sell it by the foot. My P24 came with a box of new pale blue windlace and a new black vinyl headliner but at the rate I'm going not sure if I'll ever reach that stage in the fixup. I'm having too much fun just driving the old girl.

...which is an exact reproduction of the original. Comes with a cotton batting backing rather than jute. I think you'll like the cotton more. I got my windlacing from Lebaron Bonney. They are more expensive, but if you want it to look original, they have the best stuff. They sold me the material and the rubber core seperately. My upholstery guy sewed it up.
