Cpt.Fred
hi all, does anyone have a good photo of a '41 dash, especially instruments and speedo? there's a guy here who has a '41 speedo for sale, and i wonder if it fits in my P-10... thanks! fred
anthonyb
Fred, Here's a pic of my 41 dash. Hopefully it will let you see what you need. I don't think the 41 speedo will work for you. AnthonyB
Cpt.Fred
you're right, it won't. sad..... *snif* well, maybe it isn't broken at all... even if it doesn't move now, i can still try lubricating, i guess. and now for some research, i'm sure i read something about what oil type to use and stuff like that somewhere on this board:cool:

Cpt.Fred
mine looks like this. i really hope i can get the speedo back to work! the crack stays, as a tribute to the car's great patina. now i only need some of the knobs (some were in the glove box in pieces, i'll glue them back on). what does this throttle thingy do exactly? is it for tuning the throttle leverage or just for raising the idle speed? 1940plymouth
Maybe if you take the speedometer out, you might be able to repair it yourself. Other than unhooking the speedo cable and the four little screws on the housing, it comes right out When I was removing mine for the Plymouth, the hardest part was getting myself situated under the steering wheel and dash to do so:(
Cpt.Fred
it's already out, so far so good... look here: http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/showthread.php?t=14081 i'll try to test it like i was told here, and then i'll see what happens. don't know if i could reapair it myself, it's all so small!
