BeBop138 Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 I have seen kits for fixing the heat risers on the small flatties from VPW but have found nothing anywhere for the long blocks....I need the shaft, plate, spring and bushings........tall order, any ideas.............Thanks Lee Quote
aero3113 Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 I did see a kit on e-bay not to long ago, I would do a search for it Quote
greg g Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 put it in the open position, fully clockwise and fix it there. Unless you are doing a lot of cold weather driving you can likely get along with out it. Mine is welded in the open position, I have driven in 30 degree weather with no ill effects. Quote
greg g Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 Yea open as in let all the gas out directly, Walter says potato, I say pottatto. Whichever, clockwise till it stops does. Quote

I haven`t for some reason been able to pull up Andy`s site--today I got thru and he does have them----mine runs very cold with the long runners on my dual carbs and this seems like the only way to fix the current problem till the other engine is done and the new intake is being made---will be using the Carter-Webers---Moose is making the new intake with the proper base flange for the CW`s and installing a water heat tube.......Thanks for your suggestions......Lee Quote
grey beard Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 Check out the article titled Heat Riser Info on the pilot's knowledge or Tech Tips area. Lotsa' good info there on this topic. Thanks Quote
BeBop138 Posted April 20, 2009 Author Report Posted April 20, 2009 Does he have them, or just show them on the site. Seems a forum member tried there a while back, and he did not have any. That was for the shortblock.............. I haven`t called him but they show in his catalog---will call him tomorrow Quote
