1955 plymouth Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 You can repair potmetal real easily, there is a company called "muggyweld" and the product they sell by the name of "super alloy 1" works great. I had a broken horn ring on my '55 and I used some of the super alloy 1 rod with a heat gun as a heating tool and the stuff worked great, I could file, shape and polish the finished product, The horn ring looks like it has already been re-chromed just by using a little never dull after shaping the weld. Check it out I think you will be happy you did. Hope this helps to all who are dealing with broken parts and frustrated by the reply "oh, potmetal is junk, no way to fix that stuff". Quote
Brendan D25 Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 Interesting, I am sure a lot of guys would be interested in this, could you provide a little more info? Quote

Rodney Bullock Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 Do you think that stuff can fill pits(holes) in pot metal. If so this could the answer to alot of our problems. I have alot of poymetal around here that must be fill before it can be chromed. I can always try it . Quote
John Nickell Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 According to this video from their website it can. http://www.muggyweld.com/1clip4.html Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 Check out this picture from muggyweld site. Look at those fingernails. How many women weld with nails like that? Plus, she must have fingers of steel, that metal has to be hot if your are welding. Quote
48mirage Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 That is the picture they were using to sell their heat disipation clay. Say goodbye to wet rags. Quote
