Don Coatney Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 Looks great! Are you going to start and run the engine before you drop it in? Quote

xbedbugger Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 Great looking engine. What kind of water pump is that? Quote
martybose Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 Great looking engine. What kind of water pump is that? Interesting question! I had been looking at the first photo and wondering how he got the alternator so close-coupled to the waterpump, now I see that the waterpump is a different casting and positions the impeller (and hence the pulley) much lower. The fanbelt looks a lot shorter. I wonder what the original application is for the waterpump? Marty Quote
woodscavenger Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 That looks great. How much did your intake/exhaust cost? And I am also very interested in the WP. It looks cool. Quote
james curl Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 I tried the Rochester carburetors on my 218 flathead Plymouth and could never overcome the stumble off idle. The accelorator pumps require a lot of travel to get enough fuel so that the engine does not stumble of idle at slow speeds. Pulled the Rochesters and installed Carter YF carburetors and haven't had any drivabilty problems since. There is a long article on the Inliners tech on the dual Rochester carbuertors and how to cure the part throttle stumble. Quote
