Normspeed
I stopped at an estate sale today and found this old picnic case for $10. It still had some plastic plates and cups inside. I've never seen one quite like it, seems like a handy car camping novelty. The label inside says Snack-Pak All-Luminum Products, Phila PA. I would guess it's a 60's vintage, pretty heavy aluminum construction. I think I'll toss it in the teardrop! Edit: I looked on ebay and there is the twin of mine, even has the utensils. Looks like the starting bid plus shipping would run $55 so I got a bargain.

RobertKB
More fun for Normspeed. That is a nice item and I remember similar things when I was a kid. Still am a kid at heart.
BobT-47P15
Ohh...cool. Even makes into a table. Had not seen one like that before. Back when I was a kid in the 1950s, Dad took a metal suitcase and fastened in elastic strips to hold plates, cups, etc and made a picnic case. But, it wasn't a table, too. Norm's Coupe
I haven't seen one that looks like that. But........when I was a kid my parents had a metal picnic table that folded in half. Just a table though and didn't hold any plates, etc. Did have a suitcase handle though to carry it when folded. I think they still make and sell similar ones in the sports and hunting stores today.
BobT-47P15
On my 50th birthday (which was a few years ago) my sister gave me the yellow and black tin picnic basket. I searched for a while and found yellow plates and cups to go with it, as well as the plaid table cloth. The miniature Vess soda bottles are salt and pepper shakers. The Scotch plaid round cooler was popular in the 50s. Throw in some old maps of neighboring states.....and you're ready to jaunt off for a pic-a-nic. Most all of these items can be found at flea markets and rummage sales....are fun displays that lookers enjoy.
Normspeed
Bob, at the same estate sale I picked up this cookbook. Check the photo, some of that stuff looks familiar. Also, same book, the photos include four different station wagons being used for camping. What's not to like about a book like that:D
Norm's Coupe
Norm, Careful using that cookbook. Did you notice the author's last name is Bates. Would that be the same Bates that owned the famous Bates Motel? :D
