buds truck Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 Just got my new magazine in the mail, nice 50 Dodge truck for the "Classic Cruiser" section on page 82. Nice truck. Quote
pflaming Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Got my magazine today, you had yours 10 days ago!!! Neat '50. I liked the front and grill in one color. OT (The mag's articles tend a bit too much to the advertiser's products and to 'trick' restoring. I guess that is how they can have a magazine at all. The subscribed price is low enough to renew so I do.) Quote
tinlizzy Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Nice looking truck maybe mine will look like that some day. Wish they woud have given a little more info on it or more dodge articles to say the least. Maybe we need to pester them some so they would do more on our lines. Are panel trucks rare? I just bought a 1948 for extra parts, body is pretty rough but haven't seen much on here about them. Lee Quote
Guest Dave Claussen Posted February 14, 2009 Report Posted February 14, 2009 I have already pestered them about their lack of Dodge truck articles. Even had my letter published in the magazine. Essentially the attitude is that they will continue to cater to the masses who have the "other" makes of trucks because there are more of them. At this point you can translate that to mean that since there are more of them then there is more money to be made from them. You will also notice after studying the ads in the magazine that the market for parts and so forth is geared towards that same group of enthusiasts. I have studied this dilemma at length on the internet and in other magazines and it seems we are destined to be in the background of the hobby through no fault of our own. Bottom line is that the magazines (and aftermarket companies who advertise in them) go where the money is so they can stay in business and that probably won't change any time soon. Just my 2 1/2 cents worth. Dave Quote
villageidiot Posted February 15, 2009 Report Posted February 15, 2009 Wow. That Dodge has a very familiar paint job to the one mine had when my Granddad bought it in 52. He bought it off a crop duster out of Yuma, AZ. Same colors. Just that the red didn't go into the door. It kind of flared into the hood from the fenders. I am trying to get the photos so I can get close to what it was back then. Good looking truck though. Why does his motor compartment/engine look different?? Quote
