stevenelle Posted January 23, 2009 Report Posted January 23, 2009 I recently purchased a M C Kit for B2b. It contains one part that I cannot identify where it goes in the assembly. It has a large fat rubber washer in the kit that I cannot find in the Shop Manual diagram. The diameter of the washer is slightly less than the 1.25 bore of the MC, so I know it is not a part of the pressure system. Can anyone shed light on where this might go. Possibly at the very bottom between the lower valve assembly and the cast body of the MC. Second question, out of curiosity - how does that "valve assembly" gizmo work and what is the exact function of it in the MC. I can't blow air either way through this new one. Thanks Quote
Olddaddy Posted January 24, 2009 Report Posted January 24, 2009 I curious about what you bought, and where you got it? Can you post any pictures? Quote
Merle Coggins Posted January 26, 2009 Report Posted January 26, 2009 The rubber washer should go down in the end of the cylinder, between the residual valve and the end of the cylinder. It helps seal the valve to the cylinder body. The valve ususally has a domed side that fits into the end of the spring. It acts like a check valve. It'll allow the pressurized fluid to leave the cylinder, but cause a bit of residual pressure when the fluid is returned back to the reservoir. Quote
stevenelle Posted January 27, 2009 Author Report Posted January 27, 2009 Thank you sir Zen Master Coggins. That is exactly the kind of expertise I have come to anticipate on this forum. - steve Quote
