ok...so the blow by would be gas...and the oil is liquid so the gas would build up and force the liquid to move and go out the dipstick hole...correct?

Then the stopped up oil breather neck is the reason why the oil cam out...too much pressure....NOW I see what ya'll was talking about. I think:eek:

I have removed the filler cap foam and will run like that...to see what happens...I put the cap on there to try and get rid of every fume possible while driving. It's just not working as I hoped...as usual.:(

If your PCV system is working correctly there should not be any air or fumes coming out of the oil fill tube. But air has to be able to flow in freely or the vac will not be able to move the fumes from the engine to the intake.

I hope I have"nt steered you to fare off base. Let me know the out come? I need to do the same to my P-15, which is for the most part stock, unrestored and a tired daily driver.

You pull out the foam and their goes your filtering!! you will suck whatever into the motor. If you pull the pcv when the motor is running and put your finger over the end it should suck your finger in, test it with the vacuum hose towards the carb hooked to the pcv.

PS,Looking at your pics in the other post make sure that the port on the carb you hooked the vacuum line to is manifold vacuum and not port vacuum. if you pull the hose off when it is running and put your finger to it,it should suck it to it, if it does not it is port vacuum and will only pull when you are on the throttle. you need to be hooked up to manifold vacuum for the pcv to work rigit.

I checked the PCV while engine was running....it sucked. When I ran it at idle it measured around 21 lbs...when I hit the throttle it went down to about 15 lbs and came buck up again. Seems allright to me. I took off my pcv valve setup(puroltaor pv-1029) and replaced it with a diiferent setup known to work on others cars. Its just a siliconed in PCV valve grommet for a SBC (NAPA 630-1063) and a NAPA PCV Valve 2-9400 with a hose to the intake port. It seemed to have the same effect on my vacuum gauge. It does however have a larger inlet and outlet, I guess that would give it more flow. I cleaned off the engine with carb cleaner where oil poured all over it so i could see any new leaks.

I drove to work...seemed fine...I looked under the hood at the previous leak area..mostly clean...a little bit of flow...I am wondering where it came from now...the oil reads at just under 3/4 tank....which is where it read after the leak. I did not refill oil to full after first leak.

Where did you get a "lbs" reading? Are you talking about vacuum reading?

yeah...I think might be it... it wasn't much oil...and it wasn't at all on the dipstick handle washer or dipstick port. It looked like it was coming from under the dizzy...Probably left over overflow that heated up...I hope.
