grey beard Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 Do any of you gents with experience in these matters have any wisdom to share on this subject? The issue has been repeatedly batted around on the forum. Several threads show up on the archives, but to my best knowledge no one has come forward to say what paint they used, and how it held up, long range. A friend of mine who has six restored vehicles painted all his steering wheels with lacquer. Some of these are thirty years old. All of them still look good. Please share your wisdom with the rest of us . . . . . . Quote
Young Ed Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 I painted mine with PPG urethane enamel over epoxy primer. Its only been about 18 months but its held up great so far. What a joy to be able to drive without the plastic turning your hands black. Quote
aero3113 Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 I just used krylon (dover white) and krylon acrylic clear coat. Has been holding up great. Quote
hkestes41 Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 I used Krylon Primer/Black/Clear about a year ago and everything has been good so far. Quote
