n1gzd_plymouth Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 Does anyone have a machine shop recommendation in the Boston area (preferably in Woburn/Burlington area or reasonable distance from there). Some already recommended MCS in Marlboro but that would be a bit of a haul during my lunch break. I just need to give them my manifolds to have them separate them, sand blast it (prep for paint) and re-surface it. Rebecca Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 Rebecca.......are you trying to get the intake manifold separated from the exhaust portion?? If so, you might try a muffler shop. I took one to a fellow I know at a local shop, he heated the bolts with his torch, then loosened them for me. Of course, the good part is, he owns and works on old cars and hotrods. Just a thought. n1gzd_plymouth Posted November 13, 2008 Author Report Posted November 13, 2008 I also want them to resurface them. Rebecca Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 Oh, OK. I didn't catch on to the part about sandblast and re-surface. Guess I don't know how you re-surface a manifold...... Quote

busycoupe Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 The NAPA store on route 9 in Natick Mass. has a machinist. He pressed the bushings into the spindles off of my car and reemed them to fit the kingpins. He did a good job, and was quick, only took a day or 2. You might want to give them a call to check if he can do what you want before driving down. I had the work done in the summer of 2007, I assume that he is still there. Sorry, but I do not remember his name. Quote
