My cousin has a rusty POS mustang I can have. I think he said its an 86. I'm going to check and see if its a 5spd. I believe I read somewhere you can put the truck shifter on these and then swap it just like the s10 ones. Does anyone know what kind of rearends these mustangs used? I'm wondering if that might be usefull to have also.

If the Mustang had a 5.0L motor in it, then it should have a 8.8 rear end in it. Depending on it's tranny(auto or stick) it could be a 2.73, 3.08, 3.27 gearing in it.

Its not a 5L. Its a 4cyl I believe possibly a v6.

Then it will have a 7.5" rear-end instead of the beefier 8.8" rear. If it's got a 5 speed tranny in it then it would be a T-5 tranny.
