BobT-47P15 Posted September 2, 2008 Report Posted September 2, 2008 Was in Nashville over the weekend to visit my mother-in-law. Called up Mr Don Coatney to inquire whether any automotive extravaganzas might be taking place in his area. He replied that, indeed, a cruise-in was being held in Murfreesboro Sunday to help raise money for the son of a local car club member whose home had recently burned. It was to take place at a new shopping center parking lot. So I twisted the arms of the Mrs and mom-in-law - told them there was probably a big sale at one of the department stores (turns out there really was). But that's another story. Don drove the Plymouth out to the show, we looked at the cars and chatted a bit. It was hot there, so he decided it was time to return to the comfort of his air conditioned home. Can't say as I blame him. It was nice to see him, as always. I appreciate him taking time to come out. To improve the scenery, we got Mary Ann in the picture..... One interesting vehicle was this pickup...... There was a Henry J with aftermarket air conditioning. He says factory air. I dunno........ Talk about patina.......that's about all that keeps this truck together. LINK to more pictures at the show......http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v96/BobT3/Car%20shows/Murfreesboro%208-31-08/ Quote
Robin (UK) Posted September 2, 2008 Report Posted September 2, 2008 Hey Bob, I love your t-shirt, in the first picture!!! Quote
steveplym Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 Nice pics Bob, glad you had a good time in TN. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 Nice pictures Bob. Looks like Bubba's truck burns a little oil.. When you think about it we all have factory air in our cars. Just roll down the windows and open the vents. In your case, just put the top down. Quote
jd52cranbrook Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 Good pictures Bob, nice to put faces to the names on here. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted September 3, 2008 Author Report Posted September 3, 2008 Robin......I wondered if anyone would notice that I wore the Rhythm Riot shirt you sent me...... For those newer members who don't know, Robin produces a really cool rhythm-n-blues type show at Thanksgiving time, in London. Last year's headliner was Lloyd Price, who will likely be remembered by us little older fellows. The picture (for the 2007 event) was done by a noted artist in England, Vince Ray. The red convert is, of course, Robin's car. The RR 10 on the license plate denotes the 10th annual edition of the show. Now, I wonder what this year's shirt will look like, and who will be the headline act???? Feel free to correct any of this info, Robin. Closeup of the shirt. Quote
Don Coatney Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 Bob; As usual I enjoyed your visit. Nice group of pictures. Quote
