  1. Hi again desotodav. Being cheeky , do you have the length of the cable please. I will measure mine but it would be nice to compare lengths. Cheers. Dave.
  2. Many thanks, I can now send the pictures with mine and hopefully get a cable made up. Cheers again. Dave.
  3. As with my other questions, I purchased this truck in bits so I now need a speedo cable. 1954 C-1-B6 , fluid drive , 3 on the tree , 116". I will be getting the cable made here in the UK but has anyone got pictures of the cable ends to fit into the gearbox and the speedo head so it will be easier to get them made . I will try and attach pictures of gearbox drive and speedo head fitting, Many thanks, Dave.....Uk
  4. Having purchased my truck in pieces and now assembling it I would like to know the gap between the cab and the chassis. I have purchased 8 new rubber mountings and sat cab onto the small rubbers but the cab floor is just touching the bell housing for the gearbox, its has fluid drive fitted. I believe shim washers can be fitted to raise the cab but is there a standard height so all the other panels are in line and the doors dont rub the running boards etc. I have read that instead of using a rubber mount on the drivers front I use a hard plastic one so the gear linkage does'nt bounce about, gear linkage on the steering column, 3 on the tree. Many thanks, Dave........UK. Truck is a 1954 C-1-B6, 218L, 3 speed, 116". As well as that, how thick are the rubber pads that the crossmembers for the rear bed sit on ? Cheers
  5. Thanks John, I agree , the more bolts the better. Dave
  6. Many thanks motterso, Thats what I was looking for. I can understand why there is a hole in line top and bottom of the cross member to allow the bolt to pass through the wood, member and chassis . Cheers, a happy chap. Dave
  7. Hi , As my truck was purchased in pieces and I am now trying to assemble the bed or buck, is there any pictures of the layout of what cross member goes first behind the cab and so on to the tailgate ? any pictures or info most welcome. I have a 1954 C-1-B6, 116", many thanks, Dave in the UK
  8. Thanks again lads, I am gradually getting the picture, I will get the tank sealed and then install it so all your advice and photos are most welcome. As I said before there are many many more questions I need to ask but one step at a time.......Cheers from a happy Dave in the ole UK..
  9. Thanks Shay, I said there will be many more questions........Dave
  10. Thanks Jerry, Would that be on the short bracket ? Any chance of a photo ? no rush as tank not fully repaired yet, Cheers, Dave

  12. Hi All, I am in the process of repairing my fuel tank on my 1954 Dodge pickup truck, C-1-B6 218l, The tank was bolted to the chassis cross member and bracket but I have seen photos of a tank held in with bolts and springs........or am I still dreaming about my truck ?? Is there any truth in the spring version ? Thanks, Dave
  13. That is a good idea , I may well go with that, many thanks Warrierdog............
  14. Thanks 59bisquik, That is just what I wanted, downloaded the picture and blown it up bigger so I think I have all the parts. I take it that its just a lot of adjustment until I can get all the gears smoothly ? I will make up a rubber donut from bits I have laying around. I will try and load some more pictures of the ole truck as its moved on a bit now, Thanks again, Dave
  15. Hi All, As I purchased my truck in pieces I need info concerning the connecting linkage for the 3 speed on the tree column . Pictures if possible of linkage and small rubber donut and how to adjust would be helpful. I need to see if I have bits missing. Thanks for any help, Dave..........I have a 1954 C-1-B6 Dodge Pickup, 1/2 ton , 218 engine , 3 speed. Its coming along slowly, engine fired up now
  16. Hi, Having trouble finding out how much oil to put in my rebuilt 218 straight 6 engine... it has a remote oil filter. I take it the answer will be in American quarts, gallons. Many thanks, Dave
  17. Thanks all, The first idea was to put oil in and mark it but thought of you friendly lads in America. I will go down the oil first route. Just another quickie.......as it has a remote oil filter will this drain down into the sump if not run for a week or two ? Thanks again, Dave
  18. By the way its a 218 straight 6 3.6cc engine
  19. Hi All, I have a 1954 Dodge pickup C-1-B6 .
