  1. It flys along under acceleration on the flat. Maybe more fuel in the tank needed and a weakened fuel pump is the cause.
  2. I had the carb off, cleaned it and blowed the fuel lines through with my air compressor. I'll try more fuel in it. Thanks
  3. No it's got about 2 gallons in it at the moment.
  4. Hi I replaced the fuel pump which died on me with another electric pump which ran fine for a while and then it died on me again. I checked the new fuel filter to find it blocked and full of crap. I then drained the tank removed it and cleaned it out only find a tree branch in it!! which is obviously the cause of my blocked filter. I replaced the filter and the truck runs fine again however it still dies on me going uphill under steady constant acceleration as though it's not getting enough fuel. If I dip the clutch when it stutters and let it coast it stays running. I'm thinking maybe the tree branch in the tank has killed the new pump, but before I replace it again is there anything else that may cause these symptoms?   5. That picture reminded me I'd got one in the shed when I swapped out the old master cylinder to a dual booster pedal on a 59 Chevy Apache I used to have. I found it, screwed it on underneath the floor between between the brake and clutch pedal. Same connectors plugged straight in and now I've got brake lights again. 5 minute fix!

  7. Yes mine has given out since I swapped into the new master cylinder. Without me taking it out does anyone know size and type of thread is for the switch? Maybe I can get one off something else in the UK then.
  8. Yes running boards would be good but they will be almost impossible to find in the U.K.
  9. 90s Pontiac runs about 5lbs of boost. Makes the motor pull like a train.
  10. Ooh controversial...... I can still take them off again easily I haven't changed anything on the body of the truck it's supported by a steel bracket attached to the frame.
  11. Thanks Dave yeh it's a pretty cool truck especially with a turbocharged flat 6 and a 5 speed in it. Well the thing is I found them by accident. I was just glancing through some Ebay ads for pickups in the UK and in the background upside down in a box were those fenders. I messaged him, he sold them to me and hey presto many hours of hammering and sanding later they are on my truck.
  12. I think for now I'm going to transfer the current ones over to the fenders. I know they are not quite the right size but will still sit nicely on them.

  15. I found some fenders in Leeds UK which is about 70 miles from me. They were pretty battered but at over 70 years old they are a bit rare.
  16. Before you put the body on make sure the following things are right first whilst everything is easy to get to. Most of all steering box! These are commonly worn and are one piece through to the column. Kingpins and all steering bushes this will stop the truck wondering all over the road. Springs and Spring perches brackets etc it's much easier to remove all these without all the weight on the chassis. Get it running driving and stopping before you put the cab on this will allow you to check everything is working correctly and most of all safely! These old trucks can easily kill you if you don't check everything properly especially when you don't know history of the truck. Make sure everything on the brakes is spot on, no leaks anywhere particularly on the back of the master cylinder as its game over if that leaks whilst you are driving it. If there is the slightest leak or dodgy seal make sure it's A1 perfect before going anywhere. Other than that look forward to a load of fun, swearing and joy when it all works after putting it back together for the 3rd time before it works :-P
  17. Dodge parts in the UK are not as easy to come by as things like Chevys and Ford. Although I did just find a pair of front fenders for my 45 in Leeds! Most of the stuff you will need to get from the US from places like DCM or vintage power wagons who are both very helpful. Vintage power wagons have a large stock of used spares as well as new parts. Pretty much everything you need is out there but the dodge parts always seem to be that little more expensive than any of the others. Is yours running and driving?
  18. No they go off what's on the title If he has the USA title with the truck If so it will take 5 minutes to fill the form out its easy. I've imported and registered 4 in the UK in the last 2 years.
  19. You don't need a lot of information for the truck to be registered in the UK. Just the VIN number which will be the serial number on ID plate Engine number if you are not sure which number on the engine it is it won't really matter if this is correct as long as it matches one of the numbers on the engine it self. The weight, most of these are about 1.8 metric tons. Engine size The colour No of doors and seats etc all the normal stuff The DVLA registration form is a generic form that covers many types of vehicles so you don't actually need a lot for pickup. All the DVLA care about is that the Import duties have been paid when it came in to the UK.

  21. Hi I need a new master cylinder for my 45 dodge pickup. As I'm in the UK I have to order from the US. Before I order an original replacement do you guys know of an upgraded version of the original master without modifying and replumbing the brake system. If not who's the best supplier in US to get one from. Thanks in advance Jamie.
  22. Do the wipers arms have a little metal block inside the arm that the bolt threads through and tightens onto the wiper motor shaft? If that little block is in wrong way round it won't tighten into the shaft.
