Hello gentlemen, Thank you for your responses. Was not happy with the braking power..weak....Inspected the brakes...found shredded/popped outer seals...looked fairly new...like the previous owner replaced them...also found a good quantity of gear oil from leaky inner seals....not properly installed....I installed NOS inner seals...they are holding up.... I have purchased replacement outer seals from Bernbaum and DCM that are supposed to fit the ‘35....they popped.... I recently bought a rear end ....I was mainly after the brake drums....it is tough to find drums....the current drums are slightly warped and cracked.....judging by the number on the differential case for the car and the recent purchase ...it is the correct number.... The part number for “Axle driveshaft oil washer assembly-outside” is #660156.... Oil Seal Retainer gasket....#600243.... I will heed your advice/suggestions....see what works.....:) Might take a while.... Thanks again.... Richard

Hi, I’ve installed a couple of sets of rear outer seals on the old girl. The seal keeps on shredding, breaking after driving only limited mileage. Any thoughts? Thank you, Rich

Hello, I am looking into buying the rusty rear end for my 1935 Plymouth PJ Deluxe. It is advertised as coming from a ‘35 PJ. Mine is the nice shiny black one. I can’t tell if the first digit is a six or eight. The parts list shows rear axle assemblies beginning in six. They measure the same from backing plate to backing plate. Can anyone shed any light on this? How they were numbered, etc.. Thanks, Richard

Hi Jerry, Finally got under there and checked. Everything looks tight upon movement. The steering wheel actually has about 3" of play. There is no play up and down in the column/worm.....just side to side. Perhaps needs new sector shims? If I decide to send it out, do you know of any reputable steering box rebuilders? Steering is a little sloppy. I pulled the steering column....cleaned the goop out of the box.....filled with 90 wt gear oil....everything seemed good...no serious looseness, pitting, or scoring..... I have her up on jackstands, the steering is very responsive. Putting weight on her, the steering. Is sloppy ...1" to 1 1/4" steering wheel play. Alignment helped...has new king pins, and tie rod ends. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks, Richard

My lever shocks are immovable. There was no hydraulic oil in them to speak of. Any tips on how to loosen them up? Correct solvent. Kerosene? Thanks, Richard

Does anyone know where I can obtain a solid state voltage regulator for my generator with a six volt positive ground system? On my 1935 Plymouth PJ Deluxe. Thanks!
