  3. My water comes out of my well. It is relatively cheap that way. The well is paid for, so the more I use the less it costs. I do have to pay electric to pump it out, but I doubt it would cost more than 5-10 cents for that half gallon of water. premix $8 - $3 rebate. $5 per bottle. $10/gal concentrate $9 -$5 rebate. $4 per bottle. $4/gal Without the rebate premix $16/gal concentrate $9/gal I generally have a spare empty antifreeze container. For $6-7 less/gal I am able to mix my own when needed.
  4. Decided to pick up some anti-freeze today. My S-10 had started making a gurgling sound through the heater core with moderate to hard acceleration when I start out. I figured the Dex-Cool was starting to clump again and thought it would be time to back flush the heater core again. Back flushed it, but I think the gurgle was because the coolant level was down. Will now have to watch the recovery tank and keep things topped off. Anyway, what I ended up getting was Prestone extended life anti-freeze. Bottle claims it to be compatible with any color, any brand, for any vehicle, extended life anti-freeze. I had intended to buy the Dex-Cool, but the PX did not have it. Paid $12.99 for the gallon, then on the way home, at Wal-Mart it was $9.00. They had the 50/50 mix for $8.00. Best part is, right now (until Feb 28 -09) Prestone has a $5/gal (2 gallon/address limit) "cash back" on extended life concentrate, and $3 on the 50/50
