  1. Well i used the races from the outer bearing and they worked for a test but i wouldnt mind the spacers and brackets. I mean if scarebird sucks i wont buy em but i would rather not spend over 150 for brackets and spacers and i thought olddaddys kit was more expensive and ya had to drill out holes
  2. i havent gotten their kit... ive pieced everything together from the olddaddy kit i dont even remember how much olddaddys kit is... i can get the parts pretty cheap and already have most of them just need spacers and brackets
  3. finally got her pushed back into my garage a week or so ago and have started back on it.. new plans for it(i know itll kill some purists) full air ride suspension shock relocation disc brakes new motor, trans and diff mounts filling all the chrome holes get a driveshaft cut DRIVING it DAILY cut the springs today to see how i want the new mounts for my motor gonna take it out and fully rebuild it because i have to send a head to the machine shop to get an exhaust bolt out
  4. oh wait...i just read scarebirds instructions on their site....says something about spacers hmmm i might not be screwed after all...guess i need to just order the kit... but why wont the smaller bearing fit over my spindle
  5. sooooooo i got rotors from an 80 lebaron the correct seals, bearings and such went to put the rotor on and with the bearing and seal in place it wont even make it to seat on the axle is there something im missing about the kit when ya piece it together? kinda sucks i just wasted a seal and rotor unless i get it out cause even working at AZ doesnt mean i get my money back ha

  7. i wish i had some extra cash id so buy this car http://chattanooga.craigslist.org/pts/1154669528.html
  8. well i got to looking and thinking about my engine today as far as the "plydo kit" instructions i did everything exactly but when it comes down to the final mounting the starter is in the way of the steering column and the exhaust is literally resting on it too so it looks like im really going to redo the whole mounting system since my welding has become better and ive run into said problems looks like the engines gonna have to sit lower and im going to make my own exhaust my idea is to recess the firewall about an inch to make everything work out better
  9. im not sure what im gonna do about color the scamp im getting is the same red haha im gonna do a OE color eventually but itll probably stay red and primer once the body work starts! ill have some more pics up when i get my garage up and organized ill throw some pics of the scamp up tomorrow!
  10. yeah im glad i consulted the HAMB about the motor...if i didnt id be screwed but nowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww im getting a sweet car ill be using as a daily driver....mwhahahahaha
  11. another update everything is moved to my house and the cars on the burner for now im not getting that big bad engine i wanted because it turned out to be a badly informed project instead im trading the chevy for the same guys 73 scamp!(slant 6 baby!) heres some pics of all the temp mounts and such
  12. well if i wasnt dreaming this morning the shop called me and said they were taking the suspension to another shop to have them done so ill have em back in 2 days i hope it works out! cause then life would be a lot easier
  13. good tow drivers is the key....there arent that many round here it seems
  14. any suggestions on how to move a car with no front suspension at all and move it without any damage to the engine or trans and be able to put it in a garage or in a driveway on stands? i know its an odd question but theres a good chance my front suspension will not be finished in time for me to move my car from my friends garage to mine in other words i have 10 days to figure this out since the shop with my suspension is giving me the run around and bad promises
  15. 84-89 crown vic it fits perfect! 3.08 gears and limited slip
  16. make it yourself! trans mount is a paint though if you use the stock cushion
  17. im pretty set on the welding! im about to finish my EMT school so thats another career option but with the turnaround rate in my city of emts and medics i wanna find a more solid career
  18. thanks man! the local department for which i have politics with has a freeze on applications and has no plan on lifting it for sometime.... but ill probably be going to welding school because i like fabricating and such alot more than engine work..and then i can make the car perfect!
  19. im putting the car on hold for now till its move is finished im looking at the 2 classes because getting a career firefighter job around these parts is hard and need something to bring in money that is a profession rather than a fly by night job i think im going to do the welding classes since i know i can find a job doing it and it would make life a lot easier when i redo everything on my car! and my classes are only available during the fall/spring semsters so this is just to make my resume and skills better
  20. im planning on going to school this summer and want to do a certificate program since my degrees classes arent offerend during the summer my choices are either welding or ase mechanic both are extremely useful in what i want to do as a second job but i just cant decide which one i should do this summer and they are both 1290hrs for completion any suggestions?
  21. well its been awhile heres whats been going on got a temp trans crossmember in and the new rear axle in and it fit perfect but theres a hitch to all of this im getting booted from the buddies garage due to reasons not in my control or my doing:mad: well were putting up a garage at my house after all and have less than a few days to lay concrete and so on before it arrives well during all this i got a 75 chevy pickup for dirt cheap to haul trash just so happens my neighboor had a 318 he wanted to trade well if any of yall have read that old hot rod article about building a high performance small block using 340 jheads and some other fun stuff then you know what this engine is capable of the engine was blueprinted off of that article so im trading the truck for the engine and pretty happy about it i dont expect to have this car on the road till next summer since im going to redo all the mounts for a higher hp engine and beefed up trans!
  22. Yeah I noticied that after I got it all together But I don't have my front suspension on hand so it'll stick out for now but I plan on cutting it down and if I have to make a new mount
  23. Its got speedways universal cushions between the mounts and it sits an inch to the pass side... Soooo check and check
  24. PROGRESSSSSSSSSS so it took most of the day to make motor mounts and get the engine in driver side mount is a modified stock mount and the pass is from scratch! the pass side will need some trimming once i get the control arms back on transmission is hopefully going in tomorrow and the engine is pretty much in so im pretty happy so far
