It's been a while and thought I would post a couple pics of the 38 progress. It finally moved under it's own power yesterday. Really happy with the Langdons dual carb and electronic ignition upgrade. Now to wire the rest of the car. The American Autowire Highway kit is really nice and should be a breeze. Merry Christmans to All. Steve Charleston SC

Tim, Hope all is well. Any updates Thanks Steve 38 Plymouth -
Yes all that has been removed to make for the new steering system. I will take really good pics once it is totally installed and then taken apart again and cleaned up. Hopefully next week.

Well, I got the sway bar mounts made and welded in and the rear spring perch made but going to take it to my alignment guy to make sure it is straight and true before final welding. Now need to clean up the frame area before he gets it. Progress is slow but making head way.

I would agree and wish my car would have came like that, but it didn't and had the factory sway bar which had to be removed for the new steering set up.

Derek, I have been very busy and haven't had time to work on it. I did make a spring perch and sway bar mounts now just have to fine time to weld them in. I will take some pics soon. Steve

Cool Car!!! Welcome

Derek, You do not have to alter the steering arms as they come with the kit. Everything from the kit seems fine, just need to secure the one spring and then mount the vega box and shocks. I decided on this kit as I want to go with a 50's hot rod theme. I will take pics later today. Steve

Hey Guys, Great thread, I am currently swapping in the Butch's 5 inch drop axle and my drivers side front leaf is moving forward and aft now that I have removed the sway bar? set up. I do not get a warm fuzzy that the new sway bar and shocks will eliminate this movement. Is there anyway to control that or do I need to weld in a solid perch on the rear like the passenger side? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Steve

Well, after some research the car did originate in Kansas so I think the transplant theory is correct. In the mean time I picked up a 230 from a 1950 Dodge Wayfarer for a $100 to build this winter. The guy also has the rest of the car if anyone needs parts let me know. Thanks for all the help. Steve

The casting # on the block is 1119729-25 and the # on the head is 1120803-8. which should be a 218 correct? No builders tag
