  7. Steering box all back together after being blased, cleaned, and ready for paint. had to use the plotter to cut a gasket as I was unable to source one and also was able to order a oil seal from Fed Mogul.. Got the steering box in, powder coated the pitman arm, drag bar and steering with new knuckles and hardware. went ahead and mounted the front new rubber and installed them. Also go the windshield in. Hired a expert to finish the back glass after struggling with the rear center.

  14. Over the past year of restoring my dads truck and keeping my truck on the road I have come accross several hurdles. Mostly parts and or contacts for things. In that time you all have been there for me, either providing useful information or just shipping me parts. Not taking my offer to pay and just sending them. I can not tell you how grateful I am. When I am done with this ground up restore I promise to return the favor and pay it forward. Again, THANK YOU!! Restoring his truck was a dream of mine and with all your help its almost done!!! (Almost is a relative term as in restoring cars you are never "done") James.
  15. Anyone have any LH Thread studs they would like to part with? I need atleast two. If not, anyone replaced all your studs and if so with what? I took one up to my local parts store and while close, nothing is perfect.
  16. I have one at home.. its a HF cheapo but it gets the job done. Ive modified it over the years. im just scared to roll the tray now. next one I will. all i had to do was file down the inner rear corner and it fit perfect! thanks again!
  17. I finally went over to my buddies shop and loaded ggdads file onto the cnc plamsa table. I love having friends with big boy toys. I then bent it up and was going to bead roll the bottom but they were using if on a legit paying project. Next time when I make one for my truck I will bead roll the bottom similar to the original. so again, thanks for the file ggdad!
  18. Also. Oil lines. Did you all use brass or steel lines from the filter to the block?
  19. sand blasting parts seems like my daily routine now.. I have a question about the lower flywheel cover. what did you use for a new seal? was it Felt? or rubber and did you rivet it back on?
  20. made my own upper generator bracket. the one that came off had see better days!
  21. couple of good days of things done. all the fuel lines and brake lines are done with the exception of the flex line from the frame to the fuel pump. great tip I found on here using a PVC pipe to make the 5/16 coil from the MC to the frame 4 way. Thanks to VPW for having a new 4 way. All new cylinders and flex lines are done. Radiator is on and all the hoses are run. opted not to go with the metal pipe to the lower radiator. my local shop was able to actually order a lower radiator hose. Oil filter housing is on but not plumbed in yet. I blasted the generator bracket and its now painted and drying.
