question. if you took out the shots will it lay frame?

"I" shaved (he is teaching me how to machine things, if you dont know who ed miller is, look him up. 5 time mopar nhraa champion and revered as the king of mopar locally) .005 is all I took off. might not of even needed that. hoping gasket gets here today. hoping!

not at 1500.. sheesh. reserve not met at 267 for the intake.. i say they want 5 - 750. that kind of money Im going to put a 4BT or 6BT in it.

quick update. head is off.. only broke one bolt .. YAY. went over to ed millers and decked the head. waiting on gasket to come in, bolts got here today. Here is a pick of the head gasket.

oil and anti freeze are drained!!! napa actually said it was not avail? anyone know the part number. I found it on RockAuto.. 18 bucks. bolts from head bolts as well.

that my plan for tonight. no luck finding either gasket or bolts local guess it wont be happening this weekend.

quick update. the Engine is at Ed Millers, the mopar legend, body is still at the shop, and finally got the frame and all the parts to powder coat. gauges from Keven came in today and are a AMAZING, I will post pics of them later. RI wire harness is here, leaf springs and all hardware is here. radiator core finally came in and is being soldered sometime this week. i took the rear end apart and inspection that, all looks well there. 8 foot sticks of brake line are ready to be bent. things are moving.

So I purchased a 48 from a member on here after falling in love with my dads. Great ride, runs/ran GREAT!! drove it 48 miles home, drove it to work, all was well. THEN, while sitting at a read light, all hell broke loose. Terrible smell of anti freeze, white smoke out the exhaust. I shut it down, good people pushed it out of the intersection and I got it towed home. anti freeze everywhere. took plugs out, carb off, and its FULL of anti freeze. first thought, cylinder head gasket but I'm afraid it might be more catastrophic. going to rip head off this weekend and see. any ideas?

thats for the reply. yes that is the bolt, I have sprayed it hevaly with some penatraing fluid again this morning. I guess I just gotta keep working at it!

Trying to remove the LAST headless rear shackle pin. any suggestions? I got the other 5 our not problem and the last one wont even budge. ive hearted it, pulled it, striped and retapped it. im nearly about to cut the whole shackle off and but a new one. HELP!!!!

actually no. I took the bolts out from block to bell housing. this is why I need to read the darn book.

I won't seperate. I tried to pull it while it engine was still on the frame. couldn't. so now I have it hanging from my engine hoise and CAN NOT get it apart. I get about half and inch seperatin all the way around.

never in my life have I had this much trouble seperating the tranny from the engine. any adive on this old beast?

Body is off to body shop. A ton of parts and the frame are off to the powder coater today or tomorrow. Chrome shop wants me to wait a week before dropping anything off. ton of parts are inbound. Things are moving forward, that is all that matters

this is where I found the most rot. the pictures dont serve it justice for how bad they are once I blasted them and sanded them. Does anyone know where I can find some?

I am glad I am not the only one searching for running boards. I am redoing my dads '48 b-1-d 126" WB and running boards are on my list of can not finds.

**update** got a lot more done this week disassembling and sourcing parts then I expected. Got the bed off, front clip off, found some rot, I knew I would. Tonight I got the cap stripped and the dolly made. tomorrow the all the body heads off to the media blaster and then to the body shop to get beautified. Things I need to find and hope you all can help: need rear quarter glass both sides still can't find running boards Also, has anyone use steele rubber? seems like a legit company to get all new seals. Couple of other questions. the frame is going to get blasted and he is trying to talk me into powder coating it. I planned on powered coating almost everything else but not the frame, what is you opinions? Here is some updates pics, nothing you haven't seen before.

Also, I need lower front chrome moulding. maybe in even the middle as its dinged up pretty good. anyone know a source?

This might be the only option I have!!
