  1. Or a non vent drivers door in Ontario.
  2. Thank you. I wonder where I could find those pieces?
  3. Hi everyone. Been a long time since I posted. Life got busy and the old dodge got put in the back drive shed to wait. Planning on pulling it back out soon with a plan to get it road worthy. (Not completely finished). Have a bit of a budget to work with now.
  4. Going to get back to working on my truck. I have a drivers door with vent window and a passenger door without. Can I order glass and seals for without vent windows and make both door match?
  5. Thats awful news I wish you all the best and thank God no one was hurt
  6. What if you used a much higher gear ratio in the rear diff to adjust for the low tranny gears? I am sure you will have more then enough tourque!
  7. Thanks I looked it up it is the cheapest I have seen so far.
  8. Thanks Chris & Dave I did use some rattle can primer and paint inside the frame and plan so soak it inside there with rustproofing oil undercoating once fished. I was hoping somone would give me some advice before I started the other side.
  9. Ok so I did a bit of work this afternoon. I had a thin soft spot in the frame where the rubber bump stop mounts to the frame on the rear drivers side. I got some 1/8"th plate. and fish plated the soft spot and only welded horizontal. Did not weld vertical on the frame as most of the reserch I did said that would result in a crack. then I boxed a 16" section of the frame to reinforce it. Anyone see any major issues with this approch. I will be doing the other side to match.
  10. My local auto body supply shop recomended Chasis Saver to me but I have not used it yet Paid $60 for a quart but they told me it will go a long way.
  11. There were a couple clearance issues but a little minor grinding took care of them! Also Tennessee Clutch If you need a clutch call them mine came in quick and looks great. Price was very reasonable!!
  12. I saw an exchange service on rock auto for the steering box Related Parts 1951 DODGE TRUCK 3.6L 218cid L6 : Steering : Steering Gear Price LARES Part # 8314 Manual Gear - Return and Rebuild Service Only - You send your part to be rebuilt and returned to you. We'll email shipping instructions after you submit your order. 1/2-1T CAD$240.11
  13. Made an order from Roberts. New shackles and pins, King Pins, Tie rod ends, Motor and Cab mounts. Tennessee Clutch shipped my clutch disk today (If you need a clutch call them great price even with shipping) Got a guy that will turn my front hubs to fit the rotors for the front disk conversion Jan 2 when he gets back(no charge) I hope all this stuff comes in before the holidays it will keep me busy!
  14. Scarebird he was the only one who would send me the instructions and parts list before I bought the kit. And you just drill out the rivets holding your drum to the hub and reuse the hub you can use the original bearings if you choose to.
  15. Disk Brake bracket looks good and the calipers rotor and pads to go with it were cheap. The only thing that's kinda a problem with this kit is you need to turn down the hub to fit it the rotor. But I prefer to do that and have the proper bearings for the spindle.
  16. I didn't go there but they answered the phone
  17. Hey Tennessee Clutch is going to make me a 10`` clutch with S10 spline and ship it to me at a reasonable cost!! But I got my local Dodge place to look up all the spring shackle bushings and pins and the engine mounts WOW what a price!!! they Want $650 Anyone got any of these part # for Napa or somebody? I don't want to pay that kind of money if I don't have to!! I see Roberts is much cheaper but shipping across the border has bitten me before with the customs charges! Thanks
  18. That's the place I was looking for I hope they are willing to ship. Thanks
  19. I tried an aggressive wire brush on a grinder it cleaned up well and fairly quick in my test patch so I think I will go this rout. I read on here somewhere before about a clutch place people where using to get 10" clutch to fit their T5's but cant find it now can anyone give me the name and contact info? Thanks Rob
  20. This truck is going to be a driver to haul our toys around on a low budget rebuild so. I was also looking at that Rust Bullet they say wire brush it down and paint! Anyone use it? $400 would maybe be better used for brakes wiring harness etc.
  21. Hi Found a guy that will soda blast the frame for $300-$400 I have know idea if this sounds like a good price or not any advice!
  22. My truck has a bendix starter I'm not sure what its from but I could pull it and take some pics. Maybe someone could identify it if your interested in looking for one. All they did was add a ford starter solenoid to the fender with a push button.
  23. Well I got the T5 mounted this afternoon the old pilot bushing gave me some grief. I find it amazing just how much the T5 looks like it belongs there. There is a guy with a shop about 45 min from my place he calls Dodge City I think I will go see him about the bell housing and engine mounts. I want everything to be sitting in the right place before I put the explorer rear diff in so that I can get the pinion angle matched up as good as I can. Also are drag links available or is there a way to put new ends on?
  24. Put a test light between the neg on batery and the neg on coil and crank it over and see if it flashes if not clean the points with sand paper or emery cloth and try again You don't even need to remove the points just carefully open them and rub some emery folded over between the contacts. Checking continuity between the neg on coil and the block or neg on battery would only show continuity if the points happened to be closed at the point the engine stopped
  25. So true! My brother in-law stopped in shortly after I got home from work this morning. We decided to try to lift the cab off just the 2 of us. I was not as bad as I expected but we are both fairly big guys and are accustom to physical labor. So now the cab is put away on blocks in the back shed and the frame is ready for me to start to work on. If it stops snowing I may go outside and take the rear diff out of the Explorer so I can get that heap out of the driveway It feels good to have things moving along!!! Also any one know where to get these mounts for the bell housing?
