  1. So, would this carb connect to the automatic choke like my stock carb?
  2. Over at the Spinout, anyone near Kent OH? Stop out and see us, $5 to get in. Gougler Park.
  3. You're probably right, thank you.
  4. Thank you.
  5. Anyone know of an available replacement flange for the exhaust to bolt to the manifold? Or a replacement part from the aftermarket? I am hoping to have a new exhaust built this winter and would like to have a new flange for them to use.
  6. I have already completely eliminated the old wiring as much as possible. My next step is to open up the short runs from the lights to inside the cabin. That's the only old wiring left and appears to be original.
  7. Having a great time. Ton of cars here this year. Open race track and burnout contest. Great times. We haven't pushed this little engine more than about an hour and a half from home yet. Cooperstown would be a heck of a trip.
  8. My thoughts exactly. Something to that effect, even though the flasher has its own ground.
  9. Anyone heading out to the Trumbull County Fairgrounds for the Ruckus today? We will be there with our 51
  10. Both turn signal switches have done it. An old signal stat and the new one. The new switch has a wire for each light separately.
  11. Yes, has done it for the 4 years I owned the car. All the wiring for the lights is new, new flasher, new turn signal switch. I'm thinking the lights need new grounds ran.
  12. So, got my 51 lights all wired back together. Interesting thing that carried over to the new wiring. If I don't have the parking lights on all of my lights flash with the turn signal. If the parking lights are on, they work normal. Any insights?
  13. That's pretty cool. Old history stuff. Thanks for sharing.
  14. Awesome
  15. Thanks guys, my wife put me into a mad thrash session to try and get the car to the ruckus next Saturday. Gonna be tight and a few long nights this week but I think we can get there. Wish me luck. I'm sure I'll be back with more questions.
  16. What is the set srew size? Allen head or blade screwdriver?
  17. Thank you, much appreciated. My dimmer switch for the dash doesn't work very well, can it be opened and the contacts cleaned or should I seek a replacement?
  18. Evening everyone, I am working on repairing the wiring in my 51 cranbrook. And I have e a few questions. First how in the world do I remove the headlight and dash light dimmer switch? I cannot for the life of me figure out how the knows come off. Second, on the back of the headlight switch, are those just bullet connectors on the ends of the wires? Or are they a specific terminal type? I'm sure I'll have more questions but these are my main 2.
  19. Oh cool. I'm buying the metal stems to install since they've left the tubes in whenever they installed the tires that are on it now.
  20. I found Valve stems on Amazon, the Milton's in a set of 5. Going to buy new tires and valve stems and be done with it for now.
  21. Cool, went to that show yesterday and other than a cut valve stem on the way home, the car performed flawlessly. This was our longest trip in it. But looking at the flat tire when I got home, the tires are 20 years old and somebody left the tubes in the tires, probably because they couldn't get the right valve stems.
  22. So, I'm sure this has been covered many times over. We are looking at new wheels for our 1951 Cranbrook. Has anyone had any trouble with the lug bolts and aftermarket wheels? I will be staying steel wheels with conical seats. Thinking of going with the us wheel smoothies in a 15x6 they seem to only offer them with a 3.75" backspace will that be ok?
  23. I agree entirely, I would never buy tires that were more than a few years old to actually drive on, but 3 or less years old, I'll grab them up. I'd definitely check the date code, and even if you don't, the shop you use definitely should.
  24. Yeah, I've priced new as well. Not in my budget.
  25. My father-in-law actually has those on his Harley, I thought about it. I'm going to message the person who has them and ask some questions. Our longest trip last summer was a little over an hour to the rockabilly ruckus in Ohio. Doubt We'd go much further than that with it.
