OK, how many "young" guys do we have on this forum??
Beatles65 replied to BobT-47P15's topic in P15-D24 Forum
I feel like a famous person right now. hahaha Thanks a lot BobT-47P15!!! But yea it would be great to find out who the other members are that are of the younger generation on this forum. Here is a little about me. I am 19 years old and have been collecting cars for 2 years and tractors for 5 years. I hope to one day open a Classic Car and Tractor/Implement Museum. That is my dream and I plan on achieving it. I love old cars and tractors and I cannot get enough of them. You are probably asking the question "where does he get the money to buy all these things?" I will tell you nothing is handed to me as I work hard (Detasseling) to purchase these things. I love the old car hobby and the camaraderie that comes with it. There are just so many good people out there that make this hobby so enjoyable, and someone has to keep the hobby going so I figure that I will! Thanks again!!! From Nebraska, Andrew. -
My New 1948 Plymouth P-15 Deluxe Coupe (Many Picts)
Beatles65 replied to Beatles65's topic in P15-D24 Forum
Thanks a lot for the compliment. For now the only car that can be inside is the really old one, the 1928 Dodge Victory 6. I do plan on storing them inside this winter, as we might be building a shed soon. If that doesnt work out a neighbor has a building that I can store them in. -
A fellow Plymouth owner on this site has two engines that would possible work for my 1948 Plymouth P-15 Deluxe Club Coupe. What he has is a 1953 Plymouth flathead 6 engine that has about 70,000 miled on it and was told upon purchase that it ran good. It came out of a 3 speed car with overdrive. He also has a 1948 Dodge Falthead 6 engine that is running and has about 40 to 50 thousand miles, but it had fluid drive so he is not sure because of that, if it would drop directly into my car without modifications. He also said there were short and long flathead engines for Dodge so that could be an issue also. What do you guys think about these two engines? Will either of them work in my car? Thanks for everything from Nebraska, Andrew.

Here is the 1948 Plymouth Deluxe Club Coupe all cleaned up inside and out. Man that thing was really dirty!! First we cleaned out the interior. We took out the seats took off the seat covers and then cleaned the original seats as best we could, then we took the shop-vac and got all the mice droppings and other stuff that was on the floor and in the trunk. The car was full of parts both in the car itself and in the trunk. The next step was to wash off the 13 years of dirt that was on the car. Now she looks great! I discovered that the original color of the paint was tan and sometime in the past it had been repainted the maroon color that it has now. I prefer this color but if i was ever going to repaint it I think I would take it back to original color. Here are some pictures of the car when we were cleaning it and when it was all done. Also there are some pictures of the parts and the interior and engine bay and trunk. Enjoy!! Thanks for reading, from Nebraska, Andrew. -

Well we left the house today at 7:30am and picked up my buddy and then the suburban and trailer from my cousin and we were on the road by 9:30. We arrived in Tecumseh Nebraska by 10:30 and started to load the car. The first thing we did was clearing all the stuff from around the car. We then had to jack it up and take the car off of the ramps that it was sitting on and also fill all of the tires up as they were all, for the most part, flat. Its a shame as those tires were practically new but now all need to be replaced as they all are cracked from being flat. We then pulled everything out from the shed that goes on the car and loaded it all into the car. I really liked how well this car rolled as it is fairly light so my friend and I pushed it out while my brother steered. We pushed it about 100 feet to the trailer so we could load it on a level surface and then wenched it onto the trailer and then tied it down. We were back home by 3:00 but waited to unload the car to see the Nebraska Versus Oklahoma State Football Game. Great game, Nebraska won!!! hahaha but I digress. I tell you it is easier to unload a car then load it. Everything went well and it arrived safely to my place and I an very pleased and happy! Here is a little about the car. The engine is half way torn apart and is stuck so that is one of the first parts that I think I will tackle. I will most likely end up going though the brakes also. The floor needs some attention as it is rusted though in areas. Tomorow I plan on washing the car off as there is 13 years of dirt built up on it. The paint isnt the best, but I think it looks cool and really gives it that great original look and also a great patina but I will know more about the paint when I clean it all off. Tomorow I will post better pictures when it is clean. I hope you all have enjoyed this experience and thanks a lot. From Nebraska, Andrew.

Going to get my 1948 Plymouth tomorow 10-23-10. I hope everything works out and I can get it home safe and sound. Borrowing my cousins suburban and trailer and leaving at 8:30 in the morning. Its gunna be my brother, dad, me and two friends going to get the car so we have plenty of hands. This is going to be fun as I feel that a lot of the fun of buying an old car is the adventure of going to get it. I will be taking lots of pictures so I will post them when I get back. Thanks for reading, from Nebraska, Andrew.

Yes It has to be the front of an Edsel. One of the most popular gills out there. Here is a picture of my 1959 Edsel Ranger 4 door sedan. Picked this one up about a month ago.
