  1. The car is an hour away from me so it is hards to get measurements. I have no clue what the OD of the bezel is or how it is held on. Maybe someone esle knows??
  2. My uncle, the one I am buying the 1948 Plymouth Deluxe Coupe from, is in need of some parts for his 1936 Plymouth 4 door sedan. He needs the rear light lens and tin trim that goes around the lens. His lens is broken and lens trim is all dented up. (see picts). He is also in need of some parts that keep the hood on straight. I am not sure what those parts are but hopefully the pictures will help. (see photos) If anyone has any leads on where to aquire these parts please let me know. Thanks for everything, From Nebraska, Andrew.
  3. Here is what I found tonight on craigslist. It is not my listing but will share it with everyone as someone might be interested. http://lincoln.craigslist.org/cto/1960052185.html Enjoy from Nebraska, Andrew.
  4. Eneto-55 The car is located on an acreage outside of Tecumseh Nerbraska. That is about an hour drive from where I live in Denton Nebraska. Thats funny that you mention Mead Nebraska because I also just Bought a 1959 Edsel Ranger 4 door sedan from a guy out that way. All the old cars are in the small towns! And Texas will not get so lucky as they did last year. Coach Pelini will not stand for another loss to them. One thing about working the Husker Football Games is that I get to see all the games for free and I am really looking forward to that one.
  5. Well, after negotiating with my uncle we were able to come to a price and I am the proud new owner of the 1948 Plymouth Deluxe Coupe. I know that it will take a lot of time and money to get it back on the road but it is worth it to save another old car. I cannot wait to go and pick it up. I feel that half the adventure in buying an old car is going to get it. I also feel that it will be a great addition to the collection and I cannot wait to get the car back on the road and also take it to shows. I know all you fine people on this site are full of knowledge and I plan to use this forum as a resource in getting the car road worthy again. Thanks for all the help and information as it was greatly appreciated. From Nebraska, Andrew.
  6. Yea the building is fine, just lots of stuff in the rafters falling thats all. My great uncle has no desire to work on the car anymore. He also has a 1936 Plymouth 4 door sedan and it is a fine car it even has new paint. The sad thing is he is 80 and in poor health so he hasnt driven it since he got it back from the paint shop years ago. And another reason he hasnt driven it is he doesnt want to pay the $70 fee to license the car as an antique so its just sitting in his garage collecting dust. But anyway the 1948 Plymouth Deluxe Coupe is safe in the place it is in now. I just have to see if I can buy it from him before it goes to auction as they are wanting to sell all there stuff and moving into town.
  7. Thanks for the info!! So the sunviser, spotlight and driving light are all factory options then? The interior is torn and I am not sure on the floormates but I am guessing that they are non-existant as the floor pans will all have to be replaced because of the rust. Its hard to look at the car because it is in such a tight space. I was only able to get one door open. Also i have really only looked at the car 2 times as it is an hour away from me so I dont get to look at it all the time. I think that this car would be a great one to add to my collection and am really thinking about buying it.
  8. My great uncle has a 1948 Plymouth Deluxe Coupe that he is wanting to sell. The people who sold it to him said that the timing belt was broken. It turns out that the valves were stuck in the engine. Now the engine is stuck and all torn apart and he wants to sell it. The body is all straight and original and there is no damage that I could see. There is no rust on the body but the floor pans would need to be replaced. The glass is all good that I can tell. Also it would need new tires. The one downside to the car is the engine as it would take a lot to rebuild. Here are some photos, the car is sitting in a shed and all dirty. What do you guys think I should offer him for it in this condition? Also, does anyone have any info on these kind of cars? How many where made? Thanks for everything from Nebraska, Andrew.
