  1. Package says it was made in Taiwan. But........it is a KD tool.
  2. Guess I don't know my own strength. Made a post about battery terminal spreaders about a week or so back. Ordered them through the auto parts store and picked them up Thursday. Pulled the ground cable off the battery a little while ago to try out my new tool. It did work and spread the terminal apart so I could get it all the way down on the post. But..........on my final squeeze. Oops..........guess the arthritis in my hands is not as bad as I thought.:D Hopefully there is a warranty on these things.
  3. Bob, In that case you guys might want to take a look at the 1987 color charts. I had a real nice shade of midnight blue on my 87 Reliant that I bought new. Also had an 82 Yamaha motorcycle that was a nice dark shade of midnight blue.
  4. Paint codes can be found in the back of the service manual. Believe they are also covered in the main section of this site.
  5. Bob, I think a lot of the bidders you see on ebay are just the sellers buddy's bidding up the price of things for them, instead of real buyers. That's why I stopped buying/bidding on ebay a long time ago.
  6. Tim, I didn't complain about the post. Doesn't matter either way to me, and never has. But.....still will be interesting to see what it finally goes for.
  7. Charley, that's a great offer. I already have one of Niel's key chains though. But.........even if people don't donate to that particular charity, most could donate at least one can of can goods at their grocery store. Just drop it into the barrel as you leave the store. My wife does that when she goes to the store. In addition, we just sent a check to the local rescue mission to help pay for Christmas dinner that they provide for the homeless. Next Wednesday we get together with my brother in law and his wife to go grocery shopping. Not for our self, but to donate to the local food bank. We load up our car and his van with can goods and dry goods from the grocery, then drop it off the next day. We have been doing that each December for over 20 years now. In addition to the above, the wife always pulls something off the giving tree each Christmas at church. That has little tags on it where a needy child or adult has ask for something. Most of the time, we would pull one from a child that wanted some toy. But........this year the wife pulled one off asking for a gift card from the grocery store. So........that's what we donated for that last Sunday. Then of course, there is always the bell ringer with their kettle from the Salvation Army. We always drop something into to those too when we go by one. So........there are many ways to give. And, you don't have to give much. Just about everyone can afford to drop a little change in the kettle, or a can of vegetables in a drum at the store. Now, if you really can't afford that, you can afford a little donation of your time. Wife and sister in law usually volunteers to wrap or sort toys through the Salvation Army each year, that are given away to the needy. That doesn't cost anything. In fact, they also serve a free lunch to the volunteers that are doing the wrapping and sorting. In the end, the biggest reward for doing anything like this is the satisfaction though of helping though. No, none of us are members of the Salvation Army. You don't need to be to volunteer for some things.
  8. Here is the type oil filter canister shown in the P15 parts manual. As you can see the lid looks like the part I mentioned in the last post.
  9. If you don't have an oil filter canister, why do you have the lid to it? The round part on the left side of this picture looks like the lid to the oil filter canister. Just above the bottom square part. The original style filter canister will not look like Don's Full Flow canister. Or.......even the picture posted by Don. That one is for a DeSoto.
  10. I knew why you posted that. I've seen those post to about people looking for the clock. Will be interesting to see what this one goes for. At least if someone buys it, it will have the correct time twice a day.
  11. I would either pick it up with the hoist, or as mentioned place a good heavy piece of wood that extends over the entire bottom of the pan to jack it up that way. When my engine first came back from the machine shop I had it sitting flat on the garage floor. That way the weight was distributed evenly over the entire pan, and the edges of the pan gave better support.
  12. The picture Greg shows is similar to the original like he said. But........the part that goes under the bumper sticks straight out about 4 or 5 inches more on the original jack. It's flat with no hook in it.
  13. And let the madness begin. For that price, I like my delete plate better. Anyway, I wear my clock on my wrist. It works in any car.
  14. I had the same problem with buying a new belt when I rebuilt my engine. Everyone wanted to sell me one with the teeth that didn't really fit right. I have a friend who owns an industrial belting company. They primarily make conveyor belts. But.........they also distribute belts for industrial motors too. So.....I got one from him that fits perfectly, and it has no teeth in it. Might check around with the industrial supply houses for a good belt that fits right.
  15. That's pretty sad when you can't burn a fireplace in your own home, when you want. But........we have a small suburb in Milwaukee county called Wauwatosa. Believe it or not, they hired garbage checkers there a few years ago. They go around opening peoples garbage carts on collection day to make sure you are using the correct bags, and also make sure you didn't put something that was to be recycled in there. If they find either wrong, your garbage isn't collected, and, they issue the people a ticket.
  16. You see them on ebay a lot. Also check the main site. I believe there are a couple of places listed there in the links section.
  17. Austin, Did the supposed new law also make it a crime to buy a vehicle without a title? If you are unsure about the new law, I'd call the DOT and check it out. That way you get the story straight from the horses mouth, not what someone thinks they heard.
  18. For everyone talking about how cold it is, just think about this for a minute. It's not even winter yet. It's still fall. Winter doesn't officially start until December 21st. Just thought that would make everyone's day a little brighter.
  19. Ed, That explains why I didn't know what they were. Mine were not that pretty. I missed the post about them too. But.....as mentioned, and I'm sure you know, if they are the horn plates, they are also listed and have a nice blow up picture of them in the parts manual.
  20. Reg, Guess I miss read that post. Thought it was all above ground. If that's the only place that could freeze up then I would do what someone else mentioned. Build a little shelter over the concrete where the pipe comes up from the well. Would then rent a ditchwitch, dig a trench from the house to the well and lay some underground wires to the shelter. Then install an outlet, maybe a light so I could put a small electric heater in there. I would think in a small space like 4 x 6 you could get away with either a 1500 watt portable with fan, or a 1500 watt radiant heater hung just above the pipes. That way, you wouldn't need 220 volts down there. A 110/115 would be plenty. You could even install a two way switch so you could control the outlet for the heat someplace in the house or garage.
  21. Ed, We had central air put in back about 94 or 95. Had 4 different contractors come in for quotes. At the time, I did need a new shaft for the fan. Three of the contractors told me they couldn't install central air with that furnace. The fourth contractor, who primarily does industrial work came in and said no problem. So........went with him (and he also was the lowest bidder by the way). He couldn't find a new shaft for the fan due to it's age. So.........he had a machine shop make one. Even he said the old furnace was better than the new ones, as long as I didn't mind paying for the extra gas it burns.
  22. Evidently, no one else has a clue as to what "E" is either, including me. I know you said you didn't want to pop for a parts manual..........but whatever "E" is, would be shown in the parts manual. Not only that, but each attaching bolt is listed in the book with the size and type the bolt is supposed to be. That parts manual would be the best money you'll spend on your car in my opinion. Was the first thing I bought after buying my coupe back in 1995. I've used it more than the service manual over the years.
  23. :D That's why I refuse to have our old inefficient Mueller furnace replaced that's going on 52 years old now. It still keeps the place nice and warm. Other than having it cleaned and checked once a year, just replace the pilot coupler about every 4 years or so. Everyone I know that has one of the "efficient" modern furnace is constantly having the repair guy out to keep theirs going. In fact, my mother just had to replace her heat exchanger in her 12 year old "efficient" modern furnace the other day. It was cracked in three places.
  24. Reg, Glad to hear you got your pipe fixed. I do have a question for you guys having water pipes running in the open above ground though, especially those running for a long distance. Winter is no problem I guess as long as you keep the pipe from freezing. But.........what do you do in the summer for "cold" water. Especially one running 600 feet above ground like Reg said his does. Seems like on a real hot day, you would have no cool water to drink, as it would heat up inside the pipe. Now, I know you can put ice in the glass of water. But.........I just take mine straight out of the tap regardless of outside temperature and it's nice and cool.
  25. Joe, If not for the parts manual, I'd still have one part laying on the work bench wondering where in the world it came from. After rebuilding my engine and putting it all back in the car, I had one bracket left over. There were three of us pulling the engine the night it came out, and none of us remembered where it came from. Took me several days flipping through the parts manual, but I finally found a picture of it. Was the bracket that goes on the bellhousing that the clutch return spring gets attached to. We had just hooked the spring onto the frame or someplace under there when we put it on. That part was not shown in the service manual.
