  1. My Son is a flea market hound. In kinda rough shape, but all there. Funny how things pop up in strange places.
  2. Ceck out the new video of Mystic highway by John Fogerty,on Cmt or Gac,he drives a pilot house, not just a shot.Looks unestored, great music too.
  3. I live about 40 miles west of Jonesboro Arkansas, wished i had a pilothouse, would give me an excuse to come.
  4. Be very careful, you can easily warp sheetmetal beyond repair with a sandblaster.
  5. Dadsdream i sent you a pm
  6. [/ATTACH] After much thought, i decided to let my current pilot house project go,time being the major factor. I struck a deal with Dadsdream from this board. He drove from Indiana to Arkansas to make the deal. the smaller boy is my son,Dalton, and Noah,a neighbor helped considerably on the loading. If you ever get the chance to meet Dadsdream, take it. He is a very friendly and quite knowledgeable fellow. I am excited about the plans he has for the Truck. I am not leaving the forum because once a gearhead, always a gearhead. Maybe there is another old Dodge waiting down the road......
  7. Thats why i was putting points in it,it would not pull a bushog. It started good, idled rough and had no power. I wished i had saved the old points, but that was 20 years ago.
  8. It would make installing modern equipment easier. My dad has a D-17 Allis Chalmers tractor 12 volt positive ground. It will start in any condition. I changed the points one time when the pads (both) were burnt completely off and the arm was blue, but it still started good. There must be something to this.
  9. I think the left front mount has a bushing in it to locate the cab properly so as not to interfere with the brake/clutch petals.
  10. Awful tempted to "aquire this one, solid, all there, priced right. Okay, heres the problem:another prject has to go so little time.
  11. the bottom of my old are gone so no pattern. Guess i will have to be creative.
  12. youall (a term in the southern dictionary) took care of one of my problems! That is exactly what i am gonna do. I think i want to keep the battery location, but i think i can cut that out of the original floorboard and weld back in.Now,any ideas on patching the front corners, the area at the bottom of the cab, next to the floorboards?
  13. I am interested. Give me an idea od what you need for it.
  14. I put a pair of bebops (ordered them from LMC,they were shipped from bebops) on my 64 c10 almost 12 years ago. They fit fairly well, required some finishing, more than i thought they should. They have held up well and i am pleased with them. We painted them with the same paint as the metal, cannot remember about primer.
  15. Do whatever suits you, but they are only original once. I personally would see one with a few rough edges that is original, than a perfect truck.
  16. Thanks for the repies. I will check on it this weekend. My buddy said his dad was gonna haul it for scrap if i don't buy it. Man, i don't need another project, but hate to see it meet its doom, although our local scrap man is pretty savvy. He saves most anything old worth saving. Next project: convincing my wife this is an investment! She really is a trooper when it comes to my "projects",but everybody has their limit!
  17. My plans are 12 volt, disc brakes, would like to keep original engine with higher rear end,but am open to possibilities in that dept., that wood headliner sounds cool, but no chopping,no plans of lowering, leaving paint in "patina" for now. I like traditional rods,or budget rods, but what most call rat rods look like cartoonish throwed together junk to me. When the fad was first started, i liked it,but another element took over.
  18. Got a chance at a 52 F-3,this truck has a factory pickup bed, wider and deeper than a 1/2 ton.I have not seen it in 20 years, but was running and solid then. Big flathead V-8, 4-speed. Considering it passes my inspection, and remains complete, and belongs to a friend (no haggling)Does the asking price of 500$, about what it would bring at the crusher, sound reasonable? Does not include original wheels,15 inch white spokes included.
  19. http://i1225.photobucket.com/albums/ee381/ozarkthunder/100_1265.jpg 1500 takes them both.
