  1. Hi. I need to replace the cowl vent gasket. Ok, not the issue. A new one I have already. Obviously with an attached cowl vent that will not work. So basic question: What is the easiest way to be able to move the actual cowl vent a bit around so that I can replace the gasket. Is it enough to unscrew those four screws that one can approch from the outside through the grill? Or, and do I actually have to unscrew everything from underneath, the linkage plus whatever else screws there are? thanks
  2. Looks nice. I actually need the green variant ?
  3. You are absolutely right on that. What I am planning to do is to reuse the existing vinyl parts (on the usual places). And replace to usually light beige part with fabric. Mine is not only filthy and dirty but very torn. Leather simply would not work. I kind of like the Highlander idea. But I can also see why cloth is strange ?
  4. I actually found one in the us. They are selling NOS cloth only. But they are charging even more!!!! Actually your 99USD offering I might have accepted, after all I just need 3 yards for my purpose. But this 125 price tag - no!!
  5. Mark I actually approached them regarding the green fabric. Which they have and now they would charge me 125 USD. Are they mad!!!!
  6. thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu. thom
  7. Hi just wondering if anyone has ever taken apart the front bench completely. I do not mean the seating cushion itself, but the backrest. I looked at it and can not work out how - without enforcing ridiculous force - I can take apart the backrest cushion element from the fixed and firm backrest itself. Any idea anyone? thanks
  8. Thanks. More investigation to follow ?
  9. Did my first small tours lately with the Plymouth. We have currently outside temperatures of around 86 to 88 Fahrenheit. That might have an impact on the situation obviously. But still, the car tends to get very hot, 190 plus very quickly. Meaning after a very short drive. Making driving a very unpleasant task from an inside perspective. Heat everywhere, one almost feels being boiled in the foot comparment section. I haven't got a carpet yet. But that will not have an impact in the end, so I believe. Up in untill the pedal section I have covered the floor in a butyl covered foil which should have helped. But obviously does not. A. Is the temperature ok? B. What can I do in the firewall area without having to take everything away that there is. It feels like if I wanted to add a foil there also I would have to almost take away the entire dashboard. thanks
  10. Having taken out the wiper motor in the dark I unfortunately did not really see how the wiper linkage is attached to the motor. Does anybody have a picture that can guide me? I do not see how the linkage is being hold down to the wiper motor itself?
  11. Hi, the engine hood of my car is not evenly adjusted. Especially the driver side front stands up significantly. How does this adjustment work? Attached there are some pictures, does this look right to you? Or should it be attached with screws? It looks the same on the other side.
  12. It has been said already - but I can only second the review in regard to Neil. He even once recommended me away from his offering to a competitive vendor because he felt the other one being more suitable for my need. What I can also definitely recommend is to approach him directly (even through ebay) as he certainly has more available than listed in ebay at any given time.
  13. Where do I find the distributor number?
  14. Yes you are right ? So is my reading okish?
  15. I did do the reading with to carb to vacuum link being connected. Wrong?
  16. So here the result I used my pressure gauge for the first time. So from the intake vacuum line the pressure was around 18/19. So that, from what I read in other posts sounds good. I plugged this vacuum line, but left the advance vaccuum line connected with the carb one. By the way, should I have tested the pressure coming out of the carb vacuum line also? Anyway. With this set-up the car really did not drive "well" at all. I then disconnected the advance connection to the carb vacuum line. Plugged the line coming out of carb. But left the line going into the advance open. The car drove reasonably well again. What does that mean in your opinion., Should I change the vacuum advance? I actually looked around, does a vacuum advance really have to cost over 100$. Is there a cheaper option somewhere to be found?
  17. Hi. Have just checked with Jeff Hirsch. He claims that his suppliers do not offer a prefab solution for the P18 model, but for the Cranbrook car only. Any idea if those cars actually differ that much when it comes to the top? I know, the car is different, but the top?
  18. Hi thank Thank you very much. Yes with the wiperman I am in contact already. Sending it forth and back to the US/ Germany shall be my last option to choose from. In regards to Germany - trust me the country has even become better. Less pre-war, post war minds, more open-minded, possibly even more kinder people in place ? thom
  19. But the question - is this neatsfoot oil just better or essential. Because ATF oil I have available. And by the way, we are certainly only talking about a drop of oil. It is not a question of drowning everything with it :-)?
  20. Well, well, well. You won't believe me but I have never touched such a glove. More a rower and have never been particularly good with any kind of ball games ?
