Found this side note in my repair manual: too little dwell = hi speed miss, too much dwell = low speed miss.

Just went out and looked at mine, the hole above the angled fitting goes to the oil gauge, the angled fitting goes to the bottom of the filter. Either way, sounds like the pump needs to be packed with vasoline to properly prime it.

the bolt you need is 1/4 -20 -2.5 inches long. I just noticed mine has the nuts on the bottom instead of on top like your picture.
