  1. I went down today to try jacking it up but we got 4" of new snow the other day , I did determine it's a special deluxe , had the emblems horn ring oil filter etc.
  2. Raise it up from it's grave first to assess it's condition , if it's solid enough try and get it driveable was told it was parked cuase of a timing chain jumped a link
  3. A sheet of ice it's on a side hill and the whole yard is ice
  4. I plan to try and get it jacked up out of the ground this weekend , yard in front of it is a sheet of glare ice !
  5. Not bad for $300 !
  6. Ive got a 230 with a 12 V starter that came out of the remains of a 58 D100 . What Ive found out is this starter was only used from 58 til 61 . Looks like a old style 6 or 12 starter but it has small teeth like the "modern" Mopar starters used from 62 up into the 80s . My question is has anybody done a conversion to the newer style starters ? This ones pretty tired and wont spin the engine it over fast enough to start . Had it to a shop to be checked Guy said hes surprised it works . These things are RARE and pricey !
  7. Ive been redoing brake fuel and tranny cooling lines in stainless for close to 10 years . Only draw back is its a lot tougher to work with , deburring the ends IS A MUST ! No issues with cracking and it doesnt kink any easier then steel probably less and Im double flaring it .When this batch of line is gone going to give that copper/nickle line a try just for ha has ....
  8. this one here looks like that 137 one ... looking st it closer today it looks like somebody has ground some of his tail off , hence the thoought I had that if fit over a rib ... but Im guessing its off a car
  9. Im going to try again today to take another pic of the Rams "tail" , it really does look like it may have sat over a center rib the way its shaped , on a smooth radiused hood it would have left a open area ... no idea where it may have started life it also has "DC" before the part # and the old DPCd emblem after it ... Im inclined to think it from a car but what one ? its 10 3/8 long , 2 3/4 tall and 5 inches wide ...
  10. I had tried to get a pic oh the Rams "tail " but between its size and the flash it lost detail , theres no sign of a "step" either under it or over it like where a molding might have gone , now that part # I gave is cast into the under side of it not off a parts box ... it looks to me like it was made to fit over a rib down the hood center ... ? ?
  11. and again...
  12. try again !
  13. heres 1347253
  14. OK to add more confusion to this debate , I have a "horney" ornament I pulled off a 70 Ramcharger up in my buddies junk yard with a part # underneath of 1347255 ... any guess what that fit... has a rounded back end that looks like it might have sat over a center rib on the hood
  15. If thats not a sin I dont know what is !
  16. get it blasted , gently , and paint it inside and out with POR 15 , done it a bunch of times and it works ... just done jack on it !
  17. I saved my 49 I ton from being junked a couple years back , rims were bad , spokes rotted off at the rim , my buddy who runs the yard pulled some rims off a International 1 ton from the 70s for it so I could move it ... fit nice about a 5/8 inch of extra offset but unless you have them side by side youd never know !
  18. well if your looking for a 3 window and I want a 5 .. and I can almost see your house from here maybe we should talk !
  19. thats what I wanted to see ! I like that 5 window look , Thanks !
  20. Been studying my 2 trucks here , a really ratty rotten 5 window 50 B 2 b and a fairly decent 3 window 49 B 1 D , thinking of cutting the corners out of the 5 and grafting them into the 3 , anybody done this ? I searched the forums with no luck ...doesnt look to bad to do just wondered what hidden horrors might lurk in this swap !
  21. Hey Flatie 46 since the hunt for a home for the FIRST 331 Ive since added another 331 , a 4 barrel , a 53 DeSoto 276 and 2 weeks ago a 53 Dodge 241 to the stable and still looking for a home for them !
  22. I bought my 50 B1B 4 years ago was a cut down that had sat behind a barn since 72 gave $ 50 for it to save it from the scrapper , the 49 B1D I bought 2 years ago when scrap wa high , saw it go by on the back of a roll back headed for the crusher ! I ran up to the junk yard and bought it before it got squashed , cost me $1200 in estimated scrap value at that point ! The 50 is pretty rough but the 49 is complete with minor rust in the floors , runs hoist works charges needs brake work .... all tghis becuase I have a 54 Chrysler Hemi that needed a home and figured Id street rod the 50 but to rougfh then I thought the 49 would work but its to nice to do that to so the Hemis STILL looking for a home !
  23. Theres a farm right here near me that grows sweet corn and they have a pump for irrigation thats driven by a 354 Hemi . It has thousands of hours on it !
